Re: Knight Rider 1x11 "Day Turns into Knight" - Discussion and Spoiler

Like someone else said, my favorite part was Mike going through the plant with the silencer, as KITT told him the bad guy's positions ("1 o-clock, high... 6 o-clock, low...").
This is one of my favorite parts as well. If you want to update the interaction between Mike and KITT on a mission, this is the way to do it. Have them work together with KITT using his high tech to help Mike through a situation that also taps into Mike's special abilities.

Re: Knight Rider 1x11 "Day Turns into Knight" - Discussion and Spoiler

^ I think that's going to be explored with the KITT vs KARR episode next week. I read that KARR somehow ties in with Michael (but that was alluded to in the Halloween episode).

Based on the footage that was cut from an earlier episode that showed Mike in a "dark" situation in Iraq (too dark for NBC at the time it seems), and the footage shown of Torres and KARR in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbzL9J9gV_Y&feature=channel_page
would seem to indicate that KARR uses a "pilot" in mech mode. I'm pretty sure Mike WAS KARR's first pilot and something disastrous happened hence his memory wipe. This would also track with why Graiman would pick him to use KITT, a chance at redemption.

Re: Knight Rider 1x11 "Day Turns into Knight" - Discussion and Spoiler

^ Maybe Mike is also Garthe?

Re: Knight Rider 1x11 "Day Turns into Knight" - Discussion and Spoiler

Garth? oh no . . . if they do bring back Garth, then they better bring back Goliath :D

Re: Knight Rider 1x11 "Day Turns into Knight" - Discussion and Spoiler

^ In one of the video games Garthe was working with KARR though.

"We are KARR. You will be assimilated."

^ That was Jackson as Gus. As for Kilmer, I read somewhere he didn't want to be a lead in the cast. That's why he isn't on the opening credits or the guest cast, just the end credits.

I would say also tradition. William Daniels didn't think he should be credited for voice work.

^ I honestly think they're going to go the Viper Route:

In next week's episode the US Government orders Knight Research closed. KITT is turned over to the NSA.

Mike, Sarah, Billy, and Zoe (since they're the only ones not fired) will break in and steal KITT. They'll go out on their own and work for themselves using Charles' estate for funding or, perhaps, this is how they eventually include the Hoff in the show if it isn't cancelled as the real Michael Knight serving as a silent backer of the group in a Devon like role (only unknown).

There' s a spoiler for an upcoming episode that after the SSC is shut down, Sarah is overwhelmed trying to restart F.L.A.G. There's also some speculation that if it isn't canceled, the season is ending early to give the show more time to develop in a direction closer to the original and maybe to convince one or more actors to possibly take a recuurring role.

That would be totally cool.

I think so too, but I'm worried that the show won't get picked up for a second season if NBC decides to tighten its belts. Then again, with ER ending, they could be willing to give an established show another shot over taking a gamble on a new one.

It's possible.

How bad are KR's ratings? Are the abysmal, are they not good but not terrible and could improve?

Because after this week's episode I'm hopeful that the show could be good.

Re: Knight Rider 1x11 "Day Turns into Knight" - Discussion and Spoiler

^ The season average (overall) is about 7.98.

What does that mean in the grand scheme of things? I mean I know more popular shows get much better, but what does that mean for KR?

Re: Knight Rider 1x11 "Day Turns into Knight" - Discussion and Spoiler

^ Depends on what they get in the Core Demos - that I haven't been able to find. Ratings don't matter: Core Demos matter (they justify larger ad prices).
