Although a certain recent fantasy film trilogy which grossed approximately $3 billion did feature subtitles extensively...
I want some well read, debonair Klingons like in ST:VI. Otherwise, I'm over them.
You mean guys who prattle on and on about the good bard, but can never conceive a real thought of their own?
Yeah, sure. Okay.

Yeah, sure. Okay.
Let's look into the thoughts of the average Klingon shall we?
Me kill Kirk! Me Kill Kirk! Me want GLORY! Kirk dead?
Then me want HONOR!! And GLORY!
TUC had the guile to suggest Klingons were actually literate.

We also had Kor, Kang and Koloth in TOS who were altogether less grunty then what we got later on. Kor in particular came across as man of the mind. The TUC Klingons took it a step farther and showed them to have an arrogance of brain as well as brawn. Chang was delightful in his barbs and condescension, hackneyed as they may seem to newer viewers.
DS9 did give us Martok who was multi-faceted but the amount of yelling, killing, blood wine throwing that took place on Klingon ships is pretty grotesque. You do get the impression that most Klingons are barbarians with the smarter ones rising to the top and controlling the masses.
We know the literate intelligent Klingons exist and perhaps wrestle with honour as a philosophy, not just an excuse for smashing stuff. These will be much better characters for XII.
It's due to the collapse of the Klingon educational system after the Praxis event. I'm only half-joking there.
