Klingon in Into Darkness

balls

Commander
Red Shirt
Does anyone know if the Klingon spoken in Into darkness is "real" Klingon? Did they reference okrand's work or anything used in TNG? Or did they just create new Klingon?

It's real Klingon, and Mark Okrand coached Zoe Saldana, but apparently not the guy who played the Klingon commander, who Okrand said is from a weird-speaking part of Kronos.

Why do Klingons speak so slowly? I'm sure that dialogue is hard to say but it's not realistic that they speak that slow.

Probably for dramatic effect. It is entertainment, after all.

Klingons can't speak their native language any faster without fatally biting their own tongues.
