Kirstie Alley - no Trekbbs support for DWTS?

And if you don't watch DWTS and American Idol, how do you hook up with twenty-one year old girls the next day?

:)

Let me go tell my wife this is why we should watch these shows, I'll post the results as soon as the swelling goes down in at least one of my eyes.

I've been watching it this season just because of Kirstie - I think she's done great but she's not the best. By the way, am I the only one who finds all three judges incredibly annoying?

Give me So You Think You Can Dance? any day - even though they have their fair share of annoying judges too.

What do you mean?
Suppose' I meant it depends on how wide you cast your "entertainment net," if you only want to watch stuff that you already know you'll like, then you just might be missing out on something new and different.

I really didn't anticipate enjoying Glee, but I gave it a three episode chance. Turns out there's a good reason that it is so popular. With America Idol, initially I watched it because the social groups I move in watch it, and frankly I didn't want to feel left out during discussions the next day (if you know what I mean).

Basically I grew to like them both

:)

Even having the Steeler and the Trek actress on couldn't make me watch this, although I was aware of what was going on since I ran across it while searching for Trek news daily.

It's kind of cool that Hines won and Kirstie took second though. But what's odd is that I heard she fell at least twice over the course and how do you not get marked down severely for that?

I guess I'm used to the Olympics.

Anyhow, go Pittsburgh and go Trek. ;)

The only people I know who watch DWTS and American Idol are middle-age women like my mother-in-law and my annoying coworkers who won't shut up about this stuff. Thank god for headphones :bolian:

i'm surprised there isn't some coordinated effort by Trek fans to vote for the first Saavik.

Had she stuck it out with Star Trek after Wrath of Khan, then maybe I can see some Trek fan support. But overall her attitude towards her role in that movie has been one of indifference, and her rea$on$ for not continuing as Saavik are well known.

In short: Kirstie Who and Dancing with What?

Her partner dropped her during one dance early in the season, and her shoe broke during another dance. They didn't score highly for either one of those performances. Since then she has been doing very well. Hell - Monday night the 60 year old Alley did a cartwheel on live television. She deserves the accolades.

Okay, count me as one of those lazy-ass narrow-net folk but could you please tell me -- in a nutshell -- what Glee is all about? Is it a musical? I know, I'm really lazy.

They do deduct points for it. But there is a long held believe that the show is mostly a popularity contest and the number one example is how far Bristol palin got last season.

Well it not exactly a big secret. You can see it in America Idol, where the girls and young women who watch the show quickly get rid of the female performers in favor of the more adorable guys.

and the number one example is how far Bristol Palin got last season.
Who is of course extremely popular, at least among her age peer group.

Go "Team Bristol."

:)

She actually really isn't popular amongst her peer group, examples being she has been stopped from giving her abstinence speech on some occasions and most poeple view her as nothing interesting.

I meant popularity when it came to the judges and producers of the show.

I've never watched an episode of Dancing with the Stars, American Idol or The Apprentice in my life, and I'm very proud of that fact.
