Kirk not happy not being in XI?

but my point is that since it's an alternate timeline you don't need to explain away Shatner's age, death, or the Nexus! It may not have happened in the alternate timeline! That's what an alternate timeline means!

^ This is same disaster is the new T4 movie!

Alternate Time-lines discussion's going on there boards too!

I don't think Shatner's ego is as big as his bitching co-workers claim. They were petty and jealous because he was the STAR of the show.
It seems he plays up the ego because it's expected of him. He seems to enjoy poking fun at the public perception of himself. But even if I'm wrong and he does have a big ego he deserves it. He's William fucking Shatner.:rommie: The man is a institution. If he has a high self opinion it's deserved. The man can do no wrong.

Tell me about the ENT stuff, I hadn't heard that before.

There were talks re him playing the previously uncast role of Chef in ENT, but Shatner's agent held out for lots more money than ENT could afford.

For "These Are the Voyages...", Jonathan Frakes then played Chef in the holodeck scenario.

What about the rumor that he is actually in Star Trek XI and all this stuff going on with him and Abrams is just a smoke screen to finally surprise the public when they show up and see his name on the poster...

It's definitely a rumor. I'm not at all sure it's anything more than that.

I thought it would have been neat to have both Kirk and Spock in the movie but when he was not to be included, for whatever reason, he was making comments to that he wanted to be included and should be included.

Ah, but both Kirk and Spock are in the movie.

Kirk will be played by Chris Pine. :)

Heres a picture:

Whoah, now that I see a similar image, they actually did pretty well with the casting. Not exact, but close enough.

and daaayum is New Kirk sexy. Beats old kirk(er, young old kirk) by a long-shot.

William Shatner lost all his acting ability when he sold his soul to that one Millionaire show or whatever.

Also, i watched an episode of Boston Legal in which the charactered he played got married..to a man. It was slightly disturbing only because all I could think of was Captain Kirk, kissing an old doubled-chinned man instead of a mod alien lady.

Boston Legal was probably his best bit of acting.

And so what, he kissed a boy and he liked it. :p

Shatner's price was already prohibitive for many projects before his Golden Globe and Emmys. Winning multiple awards for playing Denny Crane only made him tougher to get for some TV and movie roles.

His name wouldn't be on the poster if he's in the movie and they want it to be a surprise. There are two known actors who have small roles in Tropic Thunder. They're not on the poster or in any ads, but they do show up in the end credits cast sequence.
