I can't see why anyone would go to see another "KONG" movie, without it mostly having to deal with a giant ape. I would prefer the "universe" he's set in, to KING KONG, or his relatives/decendents. Like, if they went to this island in search of another KONG, find a group of them, like you say, and maybe this complicated matters, somehow, so that they have to bring something else back. Or maybe it's more scientific in nature and they go to study the island and get in trouble, that way. In any case, there will be an empty place in theatre if it's about another giant gorilla who gets loose in The Big Apple!A Kong-like ape was shown roaring in the clip apparently, so my hope is that instead of it being the same solitary ape, they actually have a group of giant apes living on the island, among many other giant creatures obviously.
Because as bloated and disappointing as Jackson's movie was, I did think he came up with some pretty cool and exciting sequences for the island (not counting the ridiculous dinosaur stampede of course).
KK Vs Godzilla might be difficult. I realize they messed with the sizes in the past and made Kong as big as Godzilla but this new Godzilla is massive. I can't imagine how they are gonna do it. Would they really make the monkey that big to go up against G?
The Giant Ape Someday to Be Known as King KongPrince Kong.
King Kong made half a billion dollars ten years ago. That's a lot more when whatever this Skull Island thing ends up being 3D IMAX with a big name in the lead.
One of the kaiju in Pacific Rim basically looked and moved like a giant blue hairless gorilla the size of Godzilla anyway, so yeah, I don't see why they can't supersize Kong either, and/or reduce Godzilla in size a bit to better match them up somewhere in the middle.
