Kes and Neelix

Yes the universe does look out for me that way.

And yet this is still in my photobucket..

I'm an ungrateful daughter of the universe.

It's okay though, I can cover it with a piece of paper and stare at the hands and imagine they are uhh.. someone elses.

There's this scene in Orange is the New Black and you get a vibe that there's a set of soccer balls under her prison smock when those Star Fleet overalls had always misled me to think that she had only been keeping a set of soft balls in check.

Now you have to appreciate the physics involved here.

The pressure, the incredible amount of pressure needed to make a soccer ball look like a soft ball is the same sort of forces that turns coal into diamond, no?

These are the cosmic forces which are going to be resisting Chakotay's (Robert's) chest compressions.

Which means that her boobs are punching his fists as much as his fists are punching her boobs.

It's not sexist if it's a fair fight, so this is cool.

Yes I know, you're supposed to remove/unhook/cut the bra if possible before beginning chest compressions so that the boobs roll away into the unbreathing woman's armpits so that her heart can actually be effected by the life saving remedies being applied.

But underwear can be very expensive, so there's no need to be a dick about this.

Q is a real mess but he's a Star Trek mess. Organians, Trelane, Zetar, poor old Zephram. It seems everyone wants a pet and humans are the pets of the non-corporeal.
:rommie: >>SNORT!!!<<

Yes, poor old Zephram, indeed. I loved how offended he got when he found out that his kaleidoscope entity was in love with him. But, when it took over the body of a hot chick he fancied, he didn't seem to mind it too much, afterwards. Yeah that Cochrane made out alright.

Trelane got spanked. The Organians imposed a treaty which never seemed to be obeyed. Q learned to grow up because of the Q who took the coward's way out - even settling down to raise a family. Kevin Uxbridge the Dowd killed off every Husnok out of revenge and spite. Having Humans writing for STAR TREK really does limit the possibilities of what aliens might be like, it seems ...

That makes you wonder who would win in a fight between Kevin Uxbridge and Q, the others sound like second rate, even the organians.

BTW, there's also the people who pitted Kirk against a Gorn, they seemed quite powerful. The rock people who could conjure up pretty much anything on their planet, including (a copy of?) Abraham Lincoln. The people who send them on a planet where they had to reenact the shoot out at OK Coral.

Did I miss anybody?

I think the original Predator got it right. If aliens ever do arrive here, it will be to use us for sport.

Nah, I think they'd just start outsourcing all their jobs to Earth.

Only the super-wealthy aliens would get to hunt us for sport.

Why were the Delta Quadrant inhabitants - like Neelix - just "more of the same" latex-headed aliens and nothing "special" at all? So much so that they had to bring the Borg back?

They make an adorable couple! (I would LIKE to think that, if not for that damn warlord thing, Kes and Neelix never would have broken up.)

Sure, Neelix is a tad jealous at times, but never dangerously so. Let's put it this way: I suspect that Kes was his first love, and thus he was unprepared for a relationship and kind of overcompensated at times. Before Kes, he wasn't used to being a boyfriend and didn't know "how" to be one. Fair enough, yes?

Really Neelix was never "dangerously jealous"? What about his behavior in this episode?

http://blip.tv/sf-debris-opinionated-reviews/voy-parturition-review-6350892

When Neelix is assaulting other crew members at the slightest hint they may be interested in Kes, Neelix has become dangerously jealous.

The review was actually funny ad had some points.

However, it totally missed one of the hilarious scenes in the episode. The interaction between Kes and The Doctor in sickbay shortly after the very hiarious fight between Neelix and Tom:

THE DOCTOR: Are you all right?
KES: I'm fine.
THE DOCTOR: Are you sure? You seem a little
KES: I'm fine.
THE DOCTOR: You know, if you skip lunch, the result might be a lower blood sugar level, which could. I'm sorry. It's in my programme. I see something wrong, I must attempt to diagnose it.
KES: There are some things you can't cure. Neelix and Tom Paris had a physical fight-over me!
THE DOCTOR: How delightful!
KES: Delightful?
THE DOCTOR: You should consider it a high compliment. Throughout history, men have fought over the love of a woman. Why, I can quote you autopsy reports from duels as far back as 1538.
KES: That's not funny.
THE DOCTOR: It's not meant to be. You've always been interested in autopsies.

KES: On my homeworld it's so much simpler. You choose a mate for life. There's no distrust, no jealousy, no envy, no betrayal.
THE DOCTOR: Hmm. Your world must have very dry literature.

"Parturition" is sometimes criticized for being a dull episode. I actually like it, mostly for some of the hilarious moments in it.

As for Neelix jealousy, I do think that Kes definitely started to lose interest in him around the time for this episode.

Have to say that was one of my favorite exchanges. The series, especially the Doctor, has excellent dry wit and humor.
