Karl Urban -- blond or brunet?

3D IMAX digital sensurround--or maybe JJ could just go ahead and invent toucharound and feelaround.

Oh, what the hell. Just invent the darn holodeck already. I'm pretty sure I'd have to quit my job, leave my husband and move into the theater at that point.

Man, I thought the TRON thing was a done deal. I thought I saw it on his IMDB page. :(

Watched Emo Eyeliner Karl last night. :D

Sorry 'bout the spamming, Muddy- just wanted to share the vid from Comicon.

Thanks for the link - it does look good! Can't wait until November.

Oh, and mr trampledamage loves the phrase "Emo Eyeliner Karl"

I kept looking at his pretty moles while watching the movie last night. :adore:

I know, I love his moles - I much prefer the photos where they're left in :)

John Cusack - while a really great actor sems a bit of a stretch. and Karl's ommission from the list beggars the whole thing. And of course I do wonder where Mr. Quinto was. We should take up a collection and get them laser surgery for their eyes . . .

Puh-leeze. While I can't argue with the choices of Chris Pine and Hugh Jackman, there are a few on that list that don't even come close to matching Karl Urban's magnetism. And Zachary Quinto (geeze, I can't believe I'm saying this because I hate him as Sylar) also blows several of them out of the water.

I understand sexy is in the eye of the beholder, but I always wonder who compiles the lists like this one and People's Most Beautiful. With People's, half the time I've never heard of their choices. And this list...well, some just don't seem like they merit being put under the "sci-fi" umbrella.

Oh well, just means more Karl for us to share, folks!

I'm with you guys and gals. Some of their choices are :vulcan:. I'm not going to pick on any particular selection, because I'm sure he'd be someone's favorite kink. But even ignoring the rest of the men of Trek... no Jamie Bamber? I have to ask, do they just have a list of actors for each month that they need to give some digital space to? Some of those guys, while good actors, simply don't go with sexy.

That is hi-larious. Whoever this is, they have an awesome sense of humor.

Firefly fan?

Big time. And it's sort of weird that I love it so much, because I've never cared for any of Joss Whedon's other shows. But I would probably go so far as to say it's my favorite sci-fi show of all time (next to Star Trek, which of course has an unassailable spot in my hall of fame, along with Will Robinson, the Robot, and Dark Shadows. What can I say, childhood memories).

Although Jayne is my favorite on an "I'd hit that" level, my favorite character is actually Mal. I think that Malcolm Reynolds is one of the greatest, most layered, human, fascinating characters in any genre ever.

Okay, I need to stop. I can discuss Firefly for hours.

OT? Watched Karl's Attack of the Show interview again last night, the one CD took her avatar from. Speaking of "I'd hit that..."

Interesting. I've liked other Whedon stuff but nothing to the level of Firefly. I'm curious now, what did you think of Serenity? I promise, that's my only question - I'm not going to start ranting :)

Agreed on both counts!

Me too :) But I tend not to on forums because everyone's always so vehement (even more so than Trek  ) it gets tiresome quickly.

Oh my yes!

Please, please, please let there be loads of cast interviews on the Trek DVD :adore:

I've started watching Riddick again - am having to watch it in sections so I do get some sleep at night (mr trampledamage is in charge of the remote control to make sure I do actually stop watching!) - so I've got more Karl to look forward to for tonight :techman:

I liked it, but it took me a long time to rewatch it because I was so upset by what happened to Wash (and Book, to a lesser extent). I think that's why I don't like Whedon's stuff. I like happy endings, and I hate that he always seems to feel a need to break up/kill off happy couples or otherwise devastate people's lives.

And I think that's why Trek will always be at the top of my list, because it's hopeful. I know real life isn't always rainbows and puppies and chocolate, but I want it to be and try to keep faith that it will be (especially the chocolate :)).

And that's also why I liked Firefly better than Serenity; I feel like there's always an undercurrent of positivity running through it, making it ultimately hopeful. I mean, yes, I loved Mal's ending line about love, but darn it, Wash was still gone, which negated a lot of that for me. But look how hard Mal fought in Out of Gas, my favorite episode, for his beloved Serenity. And how he'll do anything for his crew, even the wayward members like Jayne. Mal has hope, as much as he denies it, and Mal has a huge capacity for love underneath his damaged exterior.

I think that's one of the things that attracts me to Dr. McCoy (both incarnations). He's all about the human and the love and the hope when you come down to it.

Glad to meet another Firefly fan here, trampledamage. Any time you want to discuss FF, I'd be happy to by PM or whatever. And have a lovely evening with mr. trampledamage and Mr. Urban!
