Kamala or Minuet?

Okay, but you only get to pick between Minuet and Kamala. Otherwise this will just be a big posts of lists.
Posted on a board where everyone has been taught to not believe in the no-win scenario. :p

I choose Leeta. I'll also be Zinc Saucier, which comes with half the prestige, but 3 times the award money.

Kamala has *something* deeper than her chameleon-like temperament-changing thing. I think that's what we're supposed to gather from that character. We're supposed to sympathise with her as something more than a peace-offering trinket. If you won her heart (as only Picard really did in that episode) then you got someone serious.

I dunno about Minuet really given how holograms are presented with Moriarty and later The Doctor. Was she somethin' more than those beams of light? Anyway -- she passed into the wind after the Bynars left.

That'd be interesting to ask the same questions with male characters. Like ie. Riker or LaForge ?
Riker to Laforge
Is like Velveeta cheese to actual Brie cheese.
Laforge and Riker are like from different planets, no pun intended. (Maybe)

Laforge had the sex appeal of an artificial potted plant.
Yeech!:barf:

They both had different purposes. Minuet was meant to distract Riker and Picard so they wouldn't think about their duties and Kamala was meant to be the perfect mate of one guy or until she settles, all guys.
I find them both repellant for different reasons. Minuet because outside of her role as a distraction, she's nothing. Kamala because she's an ideal and there's nothing worse than an ideal. We love people for their flaws about as much if not more than for their qualities.

Kamala was supposed to adapt to your personality, but that meant more than just sex, likes and dislikes. If you wanted to be challenged physically, intellectually, etc, that is what she would do, she was not intended to be a mindless automaton.

Be that as it may, there is a difference between finding someone attractive because of a chance encounter and finding someone attractive because they were molded into that. Even if it's not perceptible (to the untrained eye) I would find the second to be repellant. It's some kind of slavery, something no modern man/woman should find acceptable.

I'd rather date a Klingon female over either Kamala or Minuet. It doesn't matter though. None of the three are anything like a real human female.

How much of the Metamorph power is becoming what you want, and how much of it is becoming what you need?

Everyone
has been molded into who they are by their encounters with other people. I’ve been molded into me!present by my wife. She’s been molded into her current persona by me. That’s inevitable over 20 years of togetherness. Neither one of us is the same person we were when we met.

Maybe the palatability of the Metamorph depends on what one actually thinks one would want in a “perfect mate,” and what we imagine that would be like is more a projection of our own desires than an objective opinion.

I mean, my ‘perfect mate’ would be calling me out on my crap all the time, opinionated, strong-willed, independent, arguing with me tenaciously when she believed she was right, and going out and doing her own thing with my participation being solely at her discretion. How is that bad?

Imagine how different the episode could have been if Picard's secret wish was a dominatrix in leather with a whip...

Well that's completly silly. That chick, Ardra, that claimed to be the devil tried that look on him and it totally turned him off.
Picard likes a more subdued woman............;)

I don't remember her wearing leather, maybe that's what was missing...
