Justin Roiland looking at 7 years in prison for domestic violence.

They won't bring him back. To much water under the bridge now. It does make it easier to land other jobs though. After going away for a couple of years I would imagine.

Solar Opposites.

Originally created for the Fox Broadcasting Company, the project was shelved before being bought by Hulu and given a two-season order consisting of 8 episodes each. The series premiered on May 8, 2020. In June 2021, the series was renewed for a fourth season.[3] In October 2022, the series was renewed for a fifth season.[4]

Personally I tuned out after 30 seconds.

Gut reaction.

He’s been cleared of all charges so he can get back to work on Rick and Morty.
Technically yeah, but after everything that's been said, I really can't see it happening.
And to be clear, they aren't dropping the charges because they actually think he's innocent, they're only doing because they don't have enough evidence to win the potential court case.
It's pretty clear from all of the stories that have come out since the accusations, that he's a complete scumbag, so even though he's not going to jail, this whole thing has probably still killed or at least severely damaged his career from this point forward.

In a case like this, if they found more evidence later, could they charge him again, or would that fall under double jeopardy? I can never remember how all of that works.

I believe, and I could be mistaken, that double jeopardy only applies if he's found not guilty after a trial.

Whoever replaces him is almost certainly going to cost much less, even if it's two people. There's really zero incentive to bring him back.

You can't replace him in this instance. Rick and Morty might as well change their names to Coy and Vance. Of course they still want to make money so they are going to ride this now dead show as far as they can. I think they have already been picked up for two more seasons.

"Beth and Beth, they're not lesbians, it's just remote masturbation. "

Full title for the spin off on every billboard.

I think Jerry is the more interested character to spin-off. His ordinariness being thrust into these fantastical experiences would be fun.

I kind of like that. You could have Beth be part of the show but he would always be meeting new Beths. Only for them to reject him. Sometimes meeting other Jerry's as well. Maybe he could even have a arch nemesis in a dark edgy evil Jerry.

Of course you can. There are multiple examples of non-professionals doing near-flawless versions of the voices. There's nothing unique about his voice, literally or creatively.

But he didn't just do the voices. He created the show. The shows often warped and edgy world view no doubt comes from him. You might get some passable stories but it will never match the heights of when it was a great show.

He hasn't written for the show for years. He's only been doing the voices, completely written by other people.
