Justin Roiland looking at 7 years in prison for domestic violence.

I was thinking more of senior people. There's no way in hell Dan Harmon didn't know.
From what I’ve read Roiland has little to do with the show beyond voice work since season 3. It’s possible that he knew something but it’s also possible that he just dismissed it as the general low level sexism that a lot of men joke about. A lot of it is baked into the show itself and Roiland had openly talked about being attracted to characters on the show, Summer in particular.

I guess we see why Rick comes so natural to him and, hoo boy, that description of the Dan Harmon video is mild. Do not seek that out...
There was always a kind of natural misanthropy to Roiland's portrayal of Rick Sanchez which I think contributed to the character's popularity, but maybe also said a lot about the person voicing him.

Apparently him being a creep is an open secret in the animation community, shades of John K.
Yep, and unfortunately for the show (and the other people who work on it), I suspect a Roiland-less R&M will be about as successful as a post John K Ren and Stimpy. (Note: That's not a defense of either Roiland or Krisfaluci, just a prediction as to the show's probability of continued success).

He's just a voice actor at this point on the show, he hasn't written an episode since season 3 and that episode is one of the clip episodes. He can be replaced and given that most of the contributions to the show seems to be shots of a teenage girl's ass and her describing peeing her pants, we might be better off without him.

As for John K, they gave him back Ren and Stimpy and he made Ren and Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon, the worst piece of shit in animation history.

It'll be nice to have an actor voicing Rick who will just act drunk instead of actually getting drunk and then doing their recording like an asshole.

Yeah. Give the dual role to one/two of those dead-on fan impressionists, and the show should be able to keep on truckin'.

I mean, the original pilot for Rick and Morty, written by Roiland, had Doc Brown attempting to molest his grandson.

The signs were there.

That was what John Mulaney was hinting towards in the original bit, but he kept it classy.

People are speaking up now and confirm he had no involvement in writing the show since Season 3 and would record his dialogue from home and send it in, which suited everyone else just fine.

To be fair, that's exactly the narrative Adult Swim and others with a vested interest in keeping their jobs would be pushing either way.

He was in a position of power over people, if they had spoken out that could’ve been the end of their careers. John K who created Ren and Stimpy was openly dating teenagers, one of them is on the DVD extras with him on one of the Ren and Stimpy box sets. He got away with it because he was such a legend in the animation community that if anyone spoke up they would be blacklisted for life.
Wow, I never knew that about him, that's really disturbing.
Sounds like he's even worse than I thought.
It's so frustrating how many of these people who have created such great shows, books, ect. are total creeps. I've joked in the past about creative people always being a bit different from other people, but a now a lot of them are turning out to be different in a bad way.

I don't know how the law works in the USA but in some countries you are legally not allowed talk about something if the court has it under wraps.
It may also be illegal to take action against him because innocent until proven guilty so the criticism of his colleagues may be a bit unfair.

I feel ill reading about Roiland and now the R&S who I never heard of before. Gags like the highly sexualized Summer and other schoolgirls feel a whole lot darker now.

He will not be an employee, It will be a contract with his LLC. And there will be a morality clause. There are no employment issues.

The guy who took over the role of Cleveland Brown from Mike Henry on Family Guy is indistinguishable as the character to my ears. It can be done.

He does do a job in sounding like Cleveland but Cleveland is also a background character and even in the last episode you can see they are even joking about how Cleveland is not given the same range they likely would if they still had the real Cleveland voice by joking about how he didn't get a romance flashback story like the other characters. Reverend is right in that their is more than performance than just sounding the same. Lots of people can do impressions but nothing beats the real thing.

A white guy playing a black guy in a white supremacist country is by definition not "the real thing."
