Justice League vs. Avengers

I'm imagining that Batman would have some sort of (highly conductive)superglue/titanium foam shot from a nozzle on a aerosol can to keep thor from his hammer fro 60 seconds. Now it might be possible that Thor could rip the foam off his hammer in under the minute time limit, but it's more than possible that he'd rip most of the flesh off his bones trying to extract these balooney titanium mittens from his hands, which would mean there is no no medium to keep his bones from falling off.

The obvious revision on Thor's part is the transformation to Don Blake doesn't side step this trick is: Can he pick up the hammer with his toes?

Just because Thor is a God doesn't mean anything. Superman has beaten Gods before. Darksied comes to mind.
None of that changes that Superman is one of the most boring characters in fiction. If anything it reinforces that.

In your opinion. Your personal level of interest in the character has nothing to do with the fact that people were discussing Supes vs Gods.

How it reinforces it, I don't get either.

Whatever...none of this matters because those who prefer Supes will think Supes should win and those that prefer Thor will think he should win. Basically, this conversation is pointless.
I would just like to see somebody admit that in their first encounter, Thor knocked Superman on his rear.

I enjoyed JLA/Avengers. Really liked the big battles and the Grandmaster's plan. Did not like how Superman and Captain America were behaving. It was explained, but its seems to be in there just to make conflict. Overall, its a fun read.

Why do so many of these Marvel DC threads become Superman vs threads? Anyway, the score : Superman - 1, Thor - 1. Seems fair.

...60 seconds...

Thor hasn't had that limitation for around two decades—unless, of course, JMS has recently reinstituted it.

Yup.

It's totally back.

He even gave the hammer to Beta Ray Bill to defend Asgard while Don Blake delivered a baby in the Secret Invasion Thor, Miniseries. Beautifully drawn but ultra contrived and did nothing to accentuate the main thrust of Secret Invasion.

I disliked the Thor vs. Supes fight mainly because it didn't get the attention it deserved. It needed more than just a few panels among a bunch of other fights...I'm talking whole-page spreads...Doomsday vs. Superman style.

Had they done JLA vs the Defenders we could have had a Superman Silver Surfer fight.

Really can't see the Surfer losing a fight to Superman, except that he's not much of a warrior born, while the Man of Steel knows how to mix it up.

Insofar as naked power is concerned, though, the Surfer is vastly beyond Superman.

JMS has Don Blake as a usable and interesting character.

I want to read about Don way more than Thor.

Like what Peter David did for Banner.

Thor is a bit of a deush really, not that we're not used to him being pomposity personified but listening to him talk about being a warrior born the chosen son and... What exactly makes Odin such a wonderful judge of Character? He's a bit of a bastard, killing his father, turning one kid into a tree and stripping the other into a shadow until he's forced to piggy back a mortal as a tourist watching the extents of medical school because he's a super deuch... And I was always certain that Simonson was trying to make a love triangle between odin, Hogan the Grim and that nine year old girl hildy daughter of Vostagg... Which means that he was getting ready to drown Freya in a lake.

Oh, and Loki is a girl.

Loki has boobs.

Personally I believe that if you took Odin out on the town, got him drunk and got him laid, y'know showed the guy a really good time, maybe in Vegas? But there after you'd be able to pick up mjolnir and utilize the power of Thor easy as pie.

While preparing JLA/Avengers, DC and Marvel supposedly discussed the possibility of each leaving one of their characters in the other publisher's universe for a year.

That would have been so effin' cool.

Damn straight. Batman and Wolverine hanging out and kicking ass.

Or the Flash and Quicksilver.

Or Superman facing off against Galactus.

Or...

Lotsa possibilities, there.

Too bad there's so many lawyers.

Captain America said it best.

"If anyone has a right to a big ego, it's Thor."

When Simonson was on the FF, Thor was hanging out on a time sled with Reed and he used "code" to tell Thor to attack the bad guy with weather. he called the Odinson a "Blowhard". And Reed had to say it a couple times more before Thor realized that Mister Fantastic wasn't just being mean.

Thor is neither stupid nor slow. He's just got a unique view on his place in the universe.

You know ... at the top? :techman:

The 60-second rule isn't back; Thor can just change between his form and the weird Donald Blake independent persona at will.

Maybe it's not 60 seconds anymore, but as mentioned, Secret Invasion Thor... Why did Thor not fight along side Bill after he gave Mjolnir to his friend to "power up"? Being Thor seems to be quite tied into contact with the Hammer.
