The Enterprise can only do warp 4 WTF Thats slower then that NX-01 hunka junk. Or did I miss something?

That's because Scotty haven't been playing with the engines yet. Gotta keep up the image of a miracle worker, after all. :D

I think I'll need more viewings to clear this thing out.

In the meantime from the official E dossier...Warp 8

Well the ship hadn't even been christened when she left starbase. I think it's safe to assume that one does not redline a brand new warp drive until trial runs have safely verified the normal operating envelope.

Who knows? An imbalance in the warp engines might create a wormhole or something...

Pike ordered "maximum warp" to Vulcan. I don't recall their being a numerical value assigned to it (of course, I didn't take along a clipboard and notepad to verify every detail ;) ). So whatever its maximum numerical value, it was indeed "redlined".

Warp 4 was mentioned as maximum speed when they where trying to break away from red matter black hole. Scotty was saying "I canna give you no more."

Well the ship was damaged in the battle with the Narada. I think a diminished maximum warp might have been a consequence.

Re: losers!!!!!!!!!

You all are a bunch of losers get a life and move out of parents basement. You are probably jizzing yourselves that this new stupid movie is coming out.

You created a username on a Star Trek board to make fun of Star Trek fans. You win at life! :bolian:

The maximum warp factor was not mentioned in the movie. The ship was damaged when trying to get away from the black hole, Warp 4 might have been all that was capable at that moment.

Also, as mentioned, we don't know what warp scale they are using.

The Enterprise is probably Starfleets fastest ship right now.

I have to say, I do like the new warp effect and sound.

I imagine that is what ships going to warp would exactly look like to the outside viewer. Just simply dissapearing into the distance in an instant. No flashy lights, no delays.
