Just rewatched Xindi arc...

That episode is TWILIGHT, where, ironically, Earth is destoryed, and the survivors end up living on what is later in the origianl timeline, Khan's planet. I particularly like how T'Pol is revealed to be in love with Archer after years of caring for him.

I thought this would have been a better romance than the nonsense we got with T'Pol and that moron Trip. Plus, Archer and T'Pol getting together would have been ironic, considering both characters initial views of each other's races.

Please, RandyS, No "Archer/T'Pol is better/worse than Trip/T'Pol." Feel free to express your personal opinion, but kindly refrain from turning it into a competition. I'd rather not break out the combat gear, thank you.

What? I thought I WAS expressing my personal opinion. I wasn't turning it into anything.

Strange thing to recieve a warning for.
This wasn't a warning; it was simply a caution, and a reminder about policy in ENT regarding these two ships. Allow me to clarify.

"Archer/T'Pol rocked because 'Twilight' showed how touching it could have been." Fine.

"Trip/T'Pol was nonsense because Trip was a moron." No problem.

"Archer/T'Pol would have been better than that Trip/T'Pol nonsense!" Not so good. You're comparing the two ships and saying that one is better than the other. Considering our past history here in ENT with the shipper wars, declaring that either pairing is better than the other can be interpreted as inflammatory, because both T/T and A/T'P have dedicated fans.

Also, a general FYI to everyone: when you make a declarative statement that gives your personal, subjective opinion the appearance of cold, hard fact, rather than using "I" language such as "In my opinion..." "I think..." "From what I saw..." there's a bigger chance of putting off those whose opinion differs from yours.

The problem with being a TOS prequel is that there would be no way of making the ship look less advanced
Of course there is. Something like a cross between the Phoenix and a space shuttle would've been perfect.

And then the viewers would complain that it didn't look "Trek" enough or that their ship design could ever evolve into what we saw in TOS.

You just can't win.

Oh, okay. ENTERPRISE being my least favorite Star Trek show, I don't visit this forum that often, but I'll keep in mind what you've said.

When I rewatch the Xindi arc the only episode I don't like is Hatchery. It reflects back to some of the first season horrible writing. Other than that the episodes involving Xindi are consistently good. Self serving Andorian aid is a nice touch towards the end.

I think Hatchery's problem is that it's the most telegraphed episode of Enterprise. Why is Archer acting weird? Could it be the thing that sprayed him?

The only redeeming quality is the crew vs. MACO moments. To be honest, they should have taken the fight between Reed and Hayes out of Harbinger and put it in this episode (basically, just play up the whole fighting for authority of the ship and use it as a backdrop to whether or not they support Archer or not in this episode). Harbinger was too crowded anyway and could have used a little more room for the alien plot to grow once they took Reed's plot out.

I loved the entire Xindi arc, the Xindi were an amazing creation it was neat seeing five species of the same race and no all of them were of the bumpy foreheaded kind. The characters had a nice arc and the ending was incredible.

You're right, I think, that the writers weren't always successful in avoiding the "I'm morally rightous, you're not, and so I shoot you" implications, but I was grateful they tried.

Hmm...sounds like TOS when Kirk comes down to a planet, basically says "You are wrong" and goes about completely changing their society. :p

Well, let's just say all the shows were on occasion unsuccessful at avoiding those implications.

Archer = "I'm morally rightous, you're not, and so I shoot you, or get my dog to pee on your trees"
Kirk= "I'm morally rightous, you're not, and so I rearrange your entire society on my whim"
Picard= "I'm morally rightous, you're not, and so I shame you with a long-winded speech that leaves you hanging your head at your failure to match my ideals"
Sisko = "I'm morally rightous, you're not....hang on...well, maybe we're both a little shady...shall we just shoot each other?"
Janeway= "I'm morally rightous, you're not, and so I am disappointed in you and may become a hardass or may just perse my lips and go away"

:)

Love the Sisko one cause that is so true.

Or .....

Archer: "I'm morally righteous and expect to get beat up for it."
Kirk: "I'm morally righteous until I get a chance to seduce your wife or girlfriend."
Picard: "I'm morally righteous thus I cannot interfere as your race becomes extinct."
Sisko: "I'm morally righteous and will discuss what that means at VegasCon." (You had to be there.)
Janeway: "I'm morally righteous because I said so."
