Just curious....

I remember season 7 episode dealing with Geordi's mom and her ship and crew going missing.
I remember hearing that originally there was plans for that to tie into Voyager and the delat quadrant but it didnt.
What ever happened with that???

The writers simply decided not to pick up the plot thread after all.

They also ending up not pursuing the Sito Jaxa story. Ditto a concept of meeting whatever entity Will Decker and V'ger had evolved into (Voyager VI meets USS Voyager). However, VOY did find the two Ferengi lost during "The Prize" (TNG).

They way I understand the whole Sito Jaxa thing was that there was plans by the Deep Space 9 writers to bring her over on there.
They thought she was dead in Cardassian space and then in the episode where Tom Riker steals the Defiant they find her in a prison camp or something like that.
At least that was what I had read.

Essentially correct - though I don't think it was going to tie into Tom Riker's "Defiant" ep. Sito was going to come back as a former PoW in DS9 though.

Wish it had happened - I love that character.

Wasn't the Sito story pitch eventually what became Hard Time with O'Brien taking what would have been her role? Or am I misremembering the DS9 Companion?

Yes. The Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Companion states that "Hard Time" was based on two story pitches. One of the story pitches involved Sito Jaxa being discovered in a Cardassian prison and would have detailed her struggle to return to daily life and was basically a story about the struggle with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Can you please tell us more about the Decker/V'ger pitch?

It was mentioned in several interviews and at conventions at the time. They toyed with the idea of USS Voyager coming across an entity that would turn out to be whatever Decker and V'ger had morphed into, mainly for the fun of Voyager vs Voyager VI. It could have meant a return to ST for Stephen Collins, depending on what direction the script took, and whether he was too busy with "Seventh Heaven". There was no mention of Ilia being required. But the writers realised that it was unlikely for V'ger to have ended up in the Delta Quadrant. Why come back already when it had new dimensions to explore?

It was floated in 1998. I recall the year because, only a few months later, Persis Khambatta (Ilia) unexpectedly passed away.
