Just a television show...

So how about a list of things that we DON"T want to see again?

We've already got time travel.

I'll contribute "the holodeck."

Trek and time travel have a long relationship.

I would add, "unfortunately."

EDIT: I would make a ruling that Naked Time really isn't a time travel story. It's just there at the end as a side effect to the slingshot effect, right? I miss Reilly. Fun character. Was having an Irishman too confusing, with a Mr. Scott also aboard?

They travelled back in time 73 hours (and technically, it's the method they later use in Assignment: Earth to go back to 1968); so sorry, it's a time travel episode.

Ful level one diagnostic, cascade failure, Technobable solutions. Bridge that looks like a health spa and is unbalenced and too big.

You are right that it has time travel in it. I was trying to make a distinction between those in which TT IS the plot, rather than a way to tie up a plot at the end.

My apologies, all, for trying to think about things instead of just observing technicalities. How un-Trekbbs of me. I'll do better next time.

The original idea for "The Naked Time" was that it was supposed to lead directly into "Tomorrow is Yesterday", but production weirdness forced those two episodes apart in the schedule, leaving that 72-hour backslide as simply an interesting side effect.

So, yeah, I'd drop "The Naked Time" from the list.

What's that do to the percentage? :D

Time travel was perhaps overused in the series, but only three of the movies involved the device (maybe four if you count the Nexus in Generations)

Star Trek IV- The Voyage Home
Star Trek First Contact
Star Trek XI

Three (or four, depending on your perspective) out of eleven isn't bad, right?

Only two of the series ended with time travel: TNG and Voyager's last episodes. Yeah, ENT had TNG characters in the finale, but there wasn't any time travel involved.

TOS did time travel 5 percent of the time. Now 4 of 11 films = 36 percent. That's better than a third. So, yeah, time travel in the films is way overused.

I don't know the number of time travel episodes in each of the other series so I can't comment on their percentages.

On the other hand, most of the movies that include time travel are in the 50% that are thought of as good by most viewers.

Anyone wanna have a go at listing the percentage of time travel eps in other Trek series? LOL, there's so many of them, it would take you all week!

Enterprise had so many, it may as well have been called 'Time Trek'! Haha! Have fun listing ENT time travel stories!

Only Terminator & Back To The Future are true time-travel story forms.

Memory Alpha has done it for you. Of course time travel was part of Enterprise's premise. Its like complaining about time travel in "the Time Tunnel". Still only nine out of 98

Yeah. Shame they kind of pushed it aside when fans reacted negatively to it, and never bothered wrapping it up properly. :vulcan: I don't think they had a clue where they were going with the TCW.
