Spoilers Johnathan Frakes is spoiling stuff again (Season 2)

Are they going to show young Spock and young Burnham playing together? Maybe along with young Sybok?

Burnham will be one of the bullies that makes fun of Spock and makes him run off into the desert to find his pet Setlat I think they are called. It's the one canon thing we know about that time so they got to squeeze it in somehow. Old Spock from the cartoon episode will show up and have a heart to heart talk to her about how wrong it is to bully people.

That are they will go "Arrested Development" on us with George Micheal, Maebe type of thing. Spock will have a crush on her. He is willing to forgo logic to ask her out but she will be more into young Kirk who is also in the episode. The Steve Holt of the episode. He decides to embrace logic and history is made.

Young Pike vs Young Solo, which looks more like their older counterparts? :D (Trek wins)

Was Frakes authorized to leak? :)

:cardie: Not really, no.

Let's see...

She time traveled first...
...fought a Klingon war first...
...was decorated by the Federation first...
...was a first officer first...
...was in line for her own command first...
...mutinied first...
...encountered the Mirror Universe first...

That was just six months in her life. Imagine what she'll accomplish over four or five decades?

You and I clearly differ on the definition of accomplishment :)
Spock has one of the best written and interesting character arcs in Star Trek (albeit a property not known for character development) and Burnham isn't even nipping at his heels, in my book. Ultimately, STD characters should start to supplant earlier characters' development because it's not episodic and they are actually meant to be developing. But not yet, with the exceptions of those Trek characters who were literally identical in pilot and finale, like Kim and Travis.

These don't feel like Mary Sue things. Trek has a long and annoying history of making it's heros the best of the best at everything. If this was the case then Kirk would have been the first Mary Sue. A Mary Sue would be a character whose flaws and mistakes are not acknowledged by the writers with the scripts. Where he or she is always right even when they are wrong Set up Stawmen arguments for them to constantly win. . Actually it's a concept that is very common in lots of sci-fi and action shows and movies. It's more of a genre trope because you don't really see that in your more edgy mainstream shows like "Breaking Bad" or "Sopranos" and etc.

Frakes rules. I can only explain him doing this stuff by him just being excited to be involved with the show. Stuff slips out, he's not really aware at the moment he says it.
