There are people who will only watch Dalek episodes. BBC want to get the news out there somehow.Well the BBC put out a brief video spoiling that the screeching pepperpots are back.
Why are they spoiling this for everyone?

With 13's reaction and claiming it was the most dangerous life-form in the universe, I think most people had assumed it was going to be a Dalek already, so not really spoiling much.
But I agree that the BBC probably suspect someone somewhere has got a picture they were going to leak. It's like how the Series Ten finale as filmed tried to keep the Cybermen a surprise, but footage and stills of Mondasian Cybermen were already doing the rounds so that was a moot point.
My only worry at the moment is that it'll just be a retread of Dalek (I might be reading too much into the trailer)
The return of the bulky, primary color Daleks (I forget their names)!
You read it here first.![]()
One does have to wonder where the Doc gets a DNA sample from something encased in a war machine.
Actually these days A LOT of U.S. Network shows get renewed with an initial 'half-season' order, and then if they do okay in the 'new' season, that order gets 'bumped up' to a full season order. We've seen that in US shows often, that prior to a cancellation, fewer eps are ordered. Person of Interest comes to mind, but they were given enough wriggle room to provide a solid sendoff.
The other thing with the new Paradigm daleks was that they looked quite impressive in real life, just not so much on screen. I can totally see what they were going for (something even more tank like) it just didn't work.

Which was already done with Into the Dalek. My only worry at the moment is that it'll just be a retread of Dalek

Yeah, I didn't actually mind the Paradigm Daleks and I was intrigued by Moffaft's claims of doing a, um, paradigm shift with the Daleks, but "Victory of the Daleks" is such a horrible episode. I love the Matt Smith era, more than most, but that's one of the few I'll never watch again. There must've been some sort of issue when they were constructing it leading to the "hunchback" effect. It wasn't in the original concept art, and they looked much better after "Victory" when they began filming them from angles that downplayed their backsides, and especially when they were repainted with more metallic colors in "Asylum" (or, for that matter, the fossilized Dalek in "The Big Bang").
I wish they hadn't debuted in such an unflattering way, or that they had a little more conviction with them. I think they worked fine as an "officer" class Dalek like in "Asylum," with the bronze ones being the "Dalek on the street."
