Jessica Jones-- Marvel/Netflix

Wow.

I'm watching the new Jane the Virgin (s02e20) where Jane does something really Nancy Drew with a sneaky Email, but instead of Jane's 40 year old mum saying "How Veronica Mars of you" as a compliment, Xo says "How Jessica Jones of You".

:)

Sadly we have to wait until 2018 for JJ S2 though, right? Same for DD S3 as both leads will fulfill their contract obligations on Defenders S1. Which I'm eager for I just want my cake and eat it too!

This announcement got me thinking, is there really any reason they have to stagger filming the shows?
Other than Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, and The Defenders there's really no crossover between the other shows that we know of. They have different cast, and writers, so is there reason they couldn't just film Jessica Jones season 2 and Daredevil season 3 at the same time? Or Punisher and a theoretical season 2 of Iron Fist or Luke Cage.

Maybe they use at least some of the same behind the scenes crew (like camera men, make up/costume people, etc) and filming two shows at once would make them spend more money by hiring two sets of crews at the same time? That's just speculation though, since I don't know really anything about how they make the shows.

I think the main reason would probably be because they don't want to do 6 shows a year.

It's so you have to renew your monthly subscription, or you can't watch all of it in a month, if all the new programming came out during the same month, if you get a month of free Netflix when you sign up and promise to considering to committing to more than a free month of Netflix.

(First hit is free, like with other drug dealers.)

I assume getting successive free months off Netflix, is more difficult than creating a new free hotmail email account every 28 days?

Maybe they don't have the budget or resources to run two productions at once. How much production staff overlap is there among these shows?

The reason is probably money. I would think they only have so much budgeted each year, so they have to spread it across all the Marvel/Netflix series.

You know, the theme is fine but nothing too interesting. I like how is plays out musically the different facets of Jessica's life and emotions, but for a Theme Tune is lack, well, a tune.

Still, having listened to all of the others, they range from dull to fine, with only The Night Manager having any hook or resonance. Bit of a bad year for theme tunes then? Which is a shame, cos I loves them and I miss having them fronting my preferred shows.

I quite like Daredevil's theme, quite haunting and gothic. Wonder if Luke Cage will be instrumental or will go with vocals? I'm hoping for some funk!

Hugo - Has high hopes for Westworld's theme in a few weeks

Yeah, I was surprised to see this win. I like the theme, but I'm totally blown away by it.

I can't actually remember it. Just excuse me whilst I Youtube.

...

Oh yeah. Likeable but probably not a winner. What was it up against?

Never sunk in with me either, but in fairness that probably has more to do with me binge watching the whole season over a weekend, which invariably means I end up fast-forwarding thought the titles.

The initial part the theme, before it breaks into the rock portion with the guitar solo, reminds me a little of the Mad Men opening titles theme.
