Jedi Survivor - too much platforming!!!!

Anyone else think there is far too much platforming in Jedi Survivor?

I mean, who buys a game where you play a Jedi to jump around like some reject from the Super Mario Bros collection??

The best parts are battling through droids and storm troopers (who would've thought??)

Hopefully they'll dial the platforming back in the next instalment.

I mean, the platforming shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who played Fallen Order. The Star Wars Jedi games are basically Uncharted with a Star Wars skin.

I don’t mind the platforming, what I dislike about the series is the maps.

Fallen Order and Survivor are the evolution of old 2d console/arcade platform games with modern technology. They look great and have a huge franchise behind them but if you disregard this for a moment they are really mediocre games with mediocre gameplay - you run around in tube levels, there is only one path to succeed and you can't deviate at all. They have an upgrade system, so you have some rewards during the game to keep you playing and so much effort is put in to have cosmetic and absolutely irrelevant game elements like collecting stuff to modify your appearance or decorate your ship/garden/whatever.

I'm not saying these games can't be fun, i have played both but in the end i'd not get them at the start for full price as they're not worth it ( huge bugs from the start in both games that take weeks and months to get patched out).

So anyone who didn't know about the platform gameplay didn't do their research before paying and that's their fault. If you like this and it's your thing go for it, otherwise wait until it's for sale.

Honestly, you talking about platforming is a selling point to me. I grew up in the 80s and 90s when the top games were all platformers.

Yeah, and have you played the Super Star Wars games recently? They're miserable.

I just remembered that I still have the disc of Fallen Order because I rented it from GameFly, canceled my subscription and they never asked for it back. That doesn't make me want to go back to it, though.

I didn't "not know" as @Timby said it's a sequel to FO which was a platforming game, it just seems to be 90 odd percent jumping around like a jackass, I can't remember FO been as bad (rose tinted glasses maybe).
