More updates, the Warp Nacelles are taking shape. Not quite the paper design, but I like them, so going to head in this direction. All things being equal, I'll be able to get a Phase II Miranda out of this as well!

More updates on the nacelles...

Tweaked the design a little bit, as I plan to put reg signage on the sides, not on the paper plans, but I'll take them as a guide and carry on... Comments and thoughts welcome, more tomorrow (off to read).

The nacelles and pylons are done and locked for the time being. Think I captured the essence of the design ethos and added my own twist -

Nacelles unlocked and tweaked - less is more I think, and this fits more with the ethos of not cluttering up the outer hull:

Anyway, they are now locked, will be textured up soon and then on to the rest of the ship... Oooooo, I get to do a new room behind the window set for this ship! Fun :-)

As for visible shield grid, I think this version of a Connie can take it. It's more detailed, with technology less hidden than the TOS version, if that makes sense.

Thank you! Yes, I think a "light" shield grid would work well. Still going to er on the side of "less is more" in terms of detail, as the Phase II version is the last one that Jeffires worked on, and his ethos should shine through. But, I also want this ship to sit as an "in-between" to the major refit that we all know did happen.

Spent a great deal of time yesterday working on the new texture maps for this baby. Still have a corridor set to make for her, which is going to be very fun.
