Jayru (JSnaith's) 3D Trek

Well, I'm happy that I was able to motivate you in such a manner!! You definitely rose up to challenge. For me, this goes right up their with the TMP version and SNW in a shared spot as my favorite take on Star Trek's most classic ship.
That is... Thank you.

For those interested, the deck disposition -

And again, her length is 392meters -

The Shuttlebay is 3 decks high - which gives me a lot of room to play with.

I shall sketch out a few things and then have it tomorrow :-)

Sorry for lack of updates - yesterday was a crap day. Lack of sleep makes for a bad bedfellow when doing anything like this. Anyways, I've rebuilt the shuttle hull which has cured 100% of the mesh errors I had, and started detailing her up -

Yes, this shuttle has a basic interior set - nothing fancy, just enough so that I can have proper glass on the windows -

More details still to add, but it's shaping up quite nicely.

Comments welcome, more later.

I wasn't sure on the pylons in your first mock-up. But with all these details I'd say it works very well!

It feels a little too simple, but when you think about the original shuttle from TOS, it wasn't overly complex when it came to detail - and that's something worth echoing I think. Have a few more things to do before it's done. I may have built more than one of these...

Plans have changed this afternoon, so I'll be back at it tomorrow ;)

I don't think this design is simple at all! There's a lot of little angles and details that show a elegant complexity that makes it appear simple.
No, it was mostly the angles of the pylons at first. But now that it's more fleshed out they work.

Thank you - yes, it feels like they are sitting right.

I dig the landing skids on the shuttle nacelles. :techman:
Sometimes you just need to keep it simple :)

The impulse drive kinda looks planted on. Probably should try emulating the original a bit more there...
Way ahead of you... And I need to emulate the big ship ;)

What's better than one shuttle? THREE!

Given the size of the Kamcaira she more than likely carries more than three. I can make more if the mood takes me.

The egress door/hatch might need a small window to peek out before opening the door; it also adds definition to the side of the ship? Your shuttlecraft look great. :techman:
