Sorry for the lengthy radio silence. Had some devastating news regarding my father in law, which has taken priority over everything else. And whilst I'm back to building 3D Models, I'm not doing Trek at the moment. I think peeps will remember that I take breaks and come back to things - so I will be coming back here to do more on these beauties. Or if you want, you can find me on Scifi-Meshes playing around with an original design :-)

    More soon.

Thank you - it's something that caught us off guard, but we're dealing. Dad in law is not accepting things, but that's ok. We all deal in our own way.

BELIEVE me I understand. My FIL waited until he was almost wheelchair-bound to have his knee replacement, and now the stubborn… guy won’t do his exercises because he thinks he can pop pills back to full strength. My MIL should be canonized.

LOL, I agree, my MIL should be canonized as well. FIL won't accept the diagnosis. We're all ok with that. He will fight. And we will stand by him and with him whilst he does. But we know and understand the reality.

Learned some new tricks regarding texturing whilst working on another project, and decided to apply the idea to the Horizon. I'm not going to lie, the ship is a PITA to retexture. But I am pleased with the results so far. She is going to shine!

    The retexturing is finished -

I am very pleased with how this turned out. Gives the ship a better sense of scale, and textures sit better on the frame. Also, I got a bit of a shine out of her as well :-) -

Now I just need to impart this new way of doing things to the USS Clarke!

    C&C welcome, more soon!

I agree, the textures look great. The only little bitty comment that I would make is that the self-illumination spotlights are too sharp in the edges… perhaps consider softening the hard line between bright and not bright?

Some of that is due to how reflective the hull is now, but I shall tweak the settings and see if I can't improve it. It may be a balancing act.

In other news, the Clarke is also a PITA to break apart and retexture. Why did I make them so complicated?

Great work there Jayru I hate to ask but would it be possible to get Otho views for the Horizon and the Clarke ?
