Jayru (JSnaith's) 3D Trek

Today's offering - new pylons. Ignore the nacelles those are still the place holders -

I can't offer C&C because I really don't know anything about this stuff. But I can say I'm really loving this!!!
Thank you!

C&C: Not feeling those grey rectangles on the secondary hull. Think you should either go with one set (top surface or sides) or change the pattern of one so they don't look like clones of each other.
I like them, not sure if Atolm does, but I do. If he says change them, I will reopen that part of the mesh file and see what I can do. Otherwise... But thank you :-)

Time permitting, I might make a start on the nacelles, so c&c welcome - more soon!

Stay well
Thank you. The recent ones have all been "Well Man" check-ups which those of us over 50 have to make sure things are ok in general and that we don't have the big C. And I have extra cardiology stuff added to the mix because of my very wonky ticker (problem I was born with). Aside from some no surprising problems with the heart (I'm coming up to another op), I've got a clean bill of health.

Here's a question - is it possible to build an Excelsior Class that is 467 meters long, and yet keeps the same lines as designed by Bill George, and fit it to a deck layout?

Let's find out...

Well... So far yes. I've managed to keep the basic outline/lines of the ship - scale her to 467 meters and have 24 decks. The bridge and sensor domes are place holders. I will create proper Excelsior type ones, just needed to get a "feel" for her. She's not a massive behemoth of a ship.

Anyway, made a few small changes to the shuttlebay so that actually works, lol. Tinker with the design? Of course I'm going to, but small tweaks.

Anyways comments welcome, more soon!

As usual nice work :techman:, as for the ship being massive.. long, it is rather stretchy and long looking, not that much bulk to it but it isn't the most elegant design out there though... oh and please ignore the so called "refit" adding two enormous engines and have them in the usual Eaves style aimed at the nacelles/pylons/whatever other important bits there are on the hull is rather stupid looking..

It is a long ship, I would estimate that it's not much bigger in terms of it's interior, to the refit E. I have no idea why they tried to make it look so much bigger on screen. The design has grown on me over the years. I have to admit when I first saw it on screen back in '84 I hated it. But some of that could be down to the idea it was the potential replacement for the refit E. It's not an ugly ship, it's... Beautiful in it's own way.

Yes, I will be ignoring the Eaves refit. Only referencing the Excelsior from Trek III-VI and using details that seem logical :-)
