News Jason Isaacs Joins Star Trek: Discovery as Captain Lorca

Speaking of poetry, Captain Lorca's (presumable) namesake, Spanish poet Federico García Lorca, was killed by Fascists at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War. I wonder if Captain Lorca will suffer a similar fate…
A civil war in the federation?
Not necessarily.
Interesting you should mention this because in the trailer when I saw the small separated piece of the Delta I said 'That is Significant. That's a Clue. Something in the Federation is causing sides to be taken, a breaking away of some sort going on that will be an arch of at least this first season.'

Based only on that separating of that smaller part of the Delta I still think I'm on the right track. 'Course they're not telling me anything over at the Studio. :)

Well, it's not like any of the OTHER changes in the 'Fleet delta have ever really meant anything besides bring a difference in uniform styles... This would be the first time.

Mind you, through the 90s incarnations most of the alien powers had some form of symbolism relevant to their motivations, but I chalked that up mostly to Mike Okuda's general art style.
