Janeway's Hair

Although I disliked Voyager for a variety of reasons, I have always liked Kate Mulgrew, and have always thought that she is a very attractive woman.
I like the later pictures and she looked good with her hair down. She looked older with her hair up, but with her hair up, she looks more commanding. I really liked seeing her with her hair down in a nightgown.
I am a teacher in China and one of the bosses is a woman who is about 35-40 years of age. She wears her hair short and tight with a small bun in back. In my opinion, it made her look ten years older than her age. For about a week, she let her hair down and she was quite cute and it took a decade off her age. Now for whatever reason, she had her hair back in "granny librarian" mode.
My take on it was that although having her hair down made her look younger and more attractive, it lost her sense of authority and respect of the workers. She wanted to look more formal and professional. Maybe she wears her hair down outside the office, who knows. But that is her look inside.
Probably the change was to make Kate look younger, softer and more attractive.

Going through the series again (Currently on Season 2, with Death Wish next), I've noticed there are variations of Janeway's hair in a few episodes. She tried a different look in Heroes and Demons, the pony tail in Resistance, and the Season 5-7 look in Purtarition. Kinda nice to get previews of what ended up coming later on. I can say I'm not a fan of the bunny style, or that short hair style she had starting in Year of Hell. Give me the Pony Tail or the Season 5-7 look Janeway, and I'll be happy.

I had a hard time with the wig thing too.
After using the hair wigs now usually I do not need to have my hair cut to often to gain the ideal hair style I want as I can always find the medium black wig that can change my hair style to the way I like. Really a good method and you can have a try.

That is what I am like with ships. People talk about the D, the E, the nacelles (they changed colour apparently, I couldn't even remember what the nacelles were when this became a big story). Constitution class, Akira class, wow I sure do know a lot of technical words, years of them washing over me on this BBS has meant I now have some names to describe what I do not notice, do not see and do not know.
They should have let Kate wear her Janeway hair like she would later do on Law & Order: SVU. IIRC, it was blonde and down past her shoulders. (The episode is "Web". Kate plays a US Attorney.)
Now the debate begins, can I stomach that rape porn trash long enough to watch the Kate episode..

IIRC, it's about this kid who basically pimps himself out over the Internet - hence the episode title, 'Web' - and tries to get his little brother in on the act as well.
I liked the ponytail in season 3 a lot. But also the color and the cut in the episode 11:59...
