The mere fact that YOU don't like it doesn't make it any less canon.
That episode should be erased.
Not because of me but as an act of decency.
And if it isn't, there are no problems to write a story which elimintate the character destruction in that bad excuse for a Star Trek Voyager episode.
I mean if that's the qualifier then I can eliminate many other episodes.
Perhaps.
But that particular episode is the worst of them all. A downright insult to a character and her fans.
Not to mention the fact that it's so incredible badly written.
Anyway, it wasn't my intention to turn this into a debate about Kes and "that episode". I just thought that if they bring back Janeway and Chakotay to Prodigy, then the rest of the gang could be included as well. Kes too.

This is a cartoon made for children, so I'm not going to get emotionally invested in it, but at first glance it doesn't look promising. The premise makes absolutely no sense while at the same time being unoriginal. The cast is a bunch of kids. Hologram Janeway feels like a cheap ploy to get parents to sit down and watch it with their kids. But whatever, I'm obviously not the target audience. We already have an overly jokey, animated,reference-packed, barely tolerable Star Trek series to watch so I'll just keep living my life and ignoring this side project.
I would much rather be emotionally invested in a kid's cartoon than The All-New Jean-Luc Grimdark Show.

About Star Trek: Prodigy, I can't wait to watch it.
Not only for Kate's voice but after to have seen Captain Janeway in charge of young officiers, I really hoped that she, one day, will officially be in charge of young people. It could be fun, especially with her being pro-protocol and the young recruits rather thinking to enjoy what surrounded them! 
And for Chakotay's fans, I read that he was going to be heard in the same anime as, Captain Chakotay.

Presently doing a rewatch of VOY now and Chakotay is decent in the early seasons. Glad he's making a return.
Beltran was interesting in the beginning, it was in later seasons he had lost confidence in the show.
Can't wait to watch this anime and see Janeway teaching to her crew, especially the young recruit, her vision of exploration and how to deal with difficulties and people!. :-)
That premier episode was so much better than I'd thought it would be. And hearing Janeway's voice at the end had an oddly triumphant feel.
So, half a season and the first plotline down, what did Voyager fans think? Hologram Janeway, Captain Chakotay and at the very end...

I thought she was great. If her final statement in the mid season break:
Isn't quintessential Kathyryn Janeway I don't know what is. Don't get in her way!
"It's time we rescue our missing ship and get some answers. Take us to the last Protostar signature. Maximum warp! I'm coming Chakotay."
Do they care about one another? Yes.
Are they going to crawl into bed together on a kid's TV show? No.
If the Protostar's a rocking, those kids better not come a knockin'!
