Good for James. He's living most of our dream.

Sudden freeze frame, then flashing arrows all around Cawley's face and the caption James "New Voyages" Cawley at the bottom of the screen.
I say make him a redshirt, kill him off in the traditional style, be done with it.
You are kidding, right?gh4chiefs said:
Ok, I'll bite. Who is James Cawley?

Good for James! I'm sure that he'll do just fine, and have a wonderful time in the process.
The interview with him over at www.trekmovie.com is well worth checking out. I'm more and more intrigued by what's been suggested about the sets.

Me either.
Which is actually oddly refreshing.
It always makes me happy when I discover that I'm not quite as much of a geek as I thought I was.![]()

People cut him some slack will ya! It's a great thing for him to get to be at ground zero of the reinventing of the franchise. He seems to be a very very nice guy, a great Trek fan who has devoted tens of thousands of dollars into making Trek shows for himself and US!
I got to visit the set of Voyager on my business trip to the lot, and the post production offices of Insurrection and I was still able to be critical of both productions. This is the DREAM OF A LIFETIME for him and many Trek fans, so stop winging about his acting ability and be happy for a fellow trek fan!

A big Mazel Tov to James! I enjoyed listening to that interview with him about his experience. Despite the project not being done as he would have done it, he seems very enthusiastic about Abrams' vision for Trek. As he says, different doesn't mean "wrong."
And I find it sad that some can't accept his positive comments about what he saw on-set without making him out to be a brainwashed, co-opted sellout. He seems to have a very mature view about the whole thing. Which is more than I can say for some other Trek fans I've seen.
