It's 49 years ago today...

The first edition of Asherman's Star Trek Compendium has an interesting account of the WorldCon showings. As I recall, only one film was scheduled, but the response was so positive that GR sheepishly offered to screen another. That he just happened to have with him. I can't remember which was shown first.

According to Asherman's account, Roddenberry had The Cage with him at WorldCon and screened it later during the weekend.

We couldn't afford a color tv at the time of Star Trek's premiere, so I remember asking my friend down the street, "Is Mr. Spock really green???".:vulcan:
