OK, I realize this may have already been done (and several times at that) and I'm leaving myself wiiiiiiiide open for sarcasm and jokes, but...
Some of you had non-picture avatars but have recently changed over to pictures, and that got me thinking about this thread. Some of you have pictures of people, live human beings (as opposed to dead ones), as your avatar. Some pictures are of people in Starfleet uniforms, and some in street clothes. Some are blurry, many are distinct, some are smiling, some aren't, some are serious and some are goofing around. And what made you decide to use a picture, or that particular pose?
I don't photograph well, but one of these years I'll have Mrs. SicOne take my picture with her handy-dandy digital camera and put it up as my avatar. And, knowing me, I'll probably be making a silly face. If it helps, think of me as a cross between George Clooney long past his prime, and Jabba The Hutt.
I'm sure many of us are curious if the picture is really you, and current or past. Feel free to post with a "yes" or "no", or additional information or, yes, jokes at my expense.
In my line of work, occasionally we have our train dispatchers come take rides with us. We talk with them on a daily basis but seldom see them in person, and it's always a novel experience to match a face with a voice on the radio. As we share our writings, I thought it would be nice if we could likewise match faces with names, and thereby foster a closer Trek BBS. Thank you very much for your time and attention.
I'm done, you can ridicule me now...
