is this re-used footage in DS9?

This is bugging me slightly.. I'm watching DS9 "the dogs of war" right now (), and at 19 mins 20 secs, the footage weyoun shows of the dominion destroying cardassian bases looks familiar. Is it re-used from some other episode or series?

If you don't have netflix, the only link I can find on youtube to this footage is in a ds9 trailer :D:

It is reused footage. Some is from A Time to Stand (When they blow up the Ketracel White facility) and some from Once More Unto the Breach, when they attack the base.

IIRC it also has footage from the attack on Chin'toka in Tears of the Prophets. I might be wrong though, I can't check right now.

Was there a scene in DS9 from inside a Bird of Prey with explosions going on that was originally in TNG's 'Generations' movie, a moment when Enterprise destroyed Lursa's and B'Tor's ship.

Yes. While in my opinion Deep Space Nine was a superior show than all previous and subsequent Star Trek series but they tended to do a rather poor and clumsy job of using stock battle footage.

To be fair it also made far more original battle footage than any other Trek series!

I do remember being a bit disappointed that a fair bit of the final battle in WYLB was reused from Sacrifice of Angels.

It also reused effects fro TUC fairly often if I remember correctly, when Klingons are being blown out into space.

That’s reused so often and everywhere though. I actually think the Orville should use it as a Wilhelm scream style joke.

Poor DS9. Made in an era in which it was impossible to examine a broadcast frame-by-frame, now each frame can be held up to a microscope. Clearly they should have spent megabucks on every episode on new footage that would last a quarter of a second on the screen for the benefit of future fans with DVDs.

that might bug you more

The launcher doesn't bother me, any more so than the same shots of the Defiant leaving the station. The only re-used bit I hate is when they used a shot of Garak avoiding an explosion on Cardassia Prime as a generic Cardassian avoiding an explosion on a starship.

You think fans didn't analyse it frame-by-frame in the nineties?

Did that before mentioned explosion inside a Bird of Prey used in 'Generations' and DS9 run backwards? It looked odd.

No it was Star Trek VI, Chang's Bird of Prey exploding. Generations nicked the footage first:lol:
The exterior shot of the BOP exploding is from ST6, but the interior shots (that Jester mentioned) of explosions and a Klingon getting blown up/out that DS9 re-used comes from Generations.
