I think the franchise should rest for a while. There is no reason to reboot it right now. If they ever came up with funding or a decent plot I would be agreeable for another SG-1 DVD movie.
He was also a regular on Joan of Arcadia around the same time that episode was filmed, and of course he had been in Star Trek Insurrection.
I'm on board with the cinematic reboot idea. Give the franchise a bit of a rest for a few years, let MGM get itself back in order, then launch a new interpretation of the story. And leave the ending of the first movie more open than the original did. Just no Samantha Carter in the reboot, please.
Hell, they can dump T'ealc before they get rid of Carter. And the likely truth is: neither character will appear in a theatrical reboot, but a female military character is vastly more likely than a Tok'ra-analogue character.
Teal'c is actually surprisingly recognizable among non-Stargate fans. Hell, when I mention Stargate among non-sci-fans their response is usually "Is Stargate the one with McGuyver in space?" or "Is Stargate the one with the bald black guy with the thing on his forehead?" It would surprise me if a film reboot left him out. It would be like doing TNG without Data.
How exactly does the talking dolphin interact with everyone else? Is it some sort of land dolphin, or a flying dolphin perhaps, like the fish and sharks from the recent Doctor Who Christmas special? Or does it just float in a tank which is pulled everywhere by the SG team?
The talking dolphin is both telepathic and a remote viewer, so he can see everything the team sees without leaving his tank and communicate with them in their minds. There you go, there's your hook.
My memory is foggy on SeaQuest, it aired when I was a fucking kid, and it hasn't had daily reruns on television constantly like the Star Treks. But as I recall, Darwin stayed in his fucking tank on board the sub. I was wondering how a dolphin can take part in missions with special ops teams in Vancover's pine forest, a question which was already answered by others in the thread.
Seriously? There are people who don't like Carter? I don't get it. Oh well...Your Mileage May Vary, eye of the beholder, and so on...to each their own.
