Is Liz Banks Famous enough now to be a love interest in Spider-Man 4?

Every time I can feel that we're gearing up to another Spider-Man movie, I start singing praises about how wonderful Elizabeth is and how wonderful her Betty is and wonderful Betty from the comics is...

She's very beautiful and a great actress. I think she's worthy. She looks better with her natural hair color though than the darker brown in the spidey movies.

Banks said that unless her role of Betty Brant was considerably larger in Spider-Man 4 that she would not take part in the film. So I imagine if Raimi and Co. want Banks, they're going to have to make her a love interest or at least a meaty supporting character.

Oh man...if Elizabeth's Betty takes a leading role in Spider-Man 4 then I'm for sure there. I've become a big fan of hers thanks to Zack and Miri, and even though I haven't seen it yet I hear she's great as Laura Bush in W.

Yeah, I heard that too. Can't imagine why they're so locked into MJ as a character for the movies - I know she's been set up as Peter's soulmate or whatever, but the character's gotten progressively less likeable as the sequels have gone on, and Dunst is less and less appealing as well.

(Although, if they did marry off Peter and MJ in the movie series, it might force the idiots at Marvel to restore the marriage in the comics as well...but don't get me started...)

Then where would Peter's character interactions and development come from? People complain that some superhero movies are too focused on the villains, but its kind of tough to be otherwise, since most superheroes are designed to be continuous, not really changing significantly so that things can go on, so there are only a few types of stories that can take place (origin, quitting & returning, facing a really tough villain & returning).

^Did anybody see W. with Liz as Laura Bush? She's pretty hot there too. I wouldn't mind see Liz in more movies these days. Question is, why haven't we seen her more often?
