Is it still showing where YOU live?

Good. Thanks. I'll pen that in.

Reasonable. REVENGE OF THE SITH had a similar schedule. In theaters in May. On DVD by sometime in November.

In what looks like the last weekend Star Trek will be playing at the local IMAX (slated to run until August 6 as of this time), and with online ticketing closed with 15 minutes of box office sales left until the move starts, 93 seats have been reserved.

That's at least 1300 dollars for the theater on a Friday night in week four of its run. :techman:

Yep. She's gone.

But what a run she had in these parts! Whew! Those are lines for a TREK movie I won't soon forget!

I went one last time to a theatre in the Minneapolis metro area and was shocked to find the Saturday afternoon showing had about 30-40 people in it. Typically a movie this old on Saturday afternoon might have 3-5 people in it, or you might be watching it alone.

And judging from a lot of the comments around me there were many first-timers. This movie has staying power.

I went for probably the last time as well in Columbus, OH - good crowd around 25-30. Many first timers as well judging by their laughter in seeing Tyler Perry in something other than his own movies.

So, Kitty, how many times is that now that you've seen the movie?

Yesterday was the 30th... if I go again I won't tell anyone (that hair shirt is getting itchy... ;))

It is not showing in my area unless I drive 40min to Orland to see it in IMAX. This is sad because I have an itch to see it one more time.

i have a feeling people who had seen are now taking their friends who havent seen it.
and then those newbies take their friends and so on and so on.

apparently it's still playing the 2:45 matinee at the Agawam Twin Cinemas, the last in Western Mass, I believe.

Only one theater for Dayton and Columbus each with only 2 showings a day. Here in Cincinnati, it's at all four dollar saver theaters ($3 cash) 4x a day - but the quality goes way down - at one showing the few seconds of George Kirk's death was "hiccuped" over, the other time the projecter light was dimmed and there was an annoying light spot on one side of the screen.

True, but I also think that there are a lot of newbies even now seeing ST - went to the dollar theaters twice and IMHO a lot of people wait until then on movies they're "iffy" on.

Just about to hit the IMAX for yet another "last" viewing of Star Trek, what with son out for the night and husbandly honey-do's all done.

40 electronic tickets sold so far with 35 minutes to go. :)

Still at one first run theatre in western suburb of Montreal (in English--not showing in French anymore)--9:15pm showing only (must be a kid's movie for that screen earlier in the day). Not a bad run for Trek in Quebec.

<snip>

Yeah, it was really nice to see - and what a mix! Younger folks in their 20's, a couple senior citizen couples. It really speaks to the wide appeal of Trek. This is the type of crowd I've seen each time I've gone.

If you're curious, this was at the AMC Empire over on 42st and 8th avenue in NYC.

Thanks GM. I couldnt convince him it was worth the schelpp. *shaking head* What was i thinking when i married him????? (29 yrs ago)
i keep checking to see if it pops back up somewhere here on the island, but im really not expecting it to at this point. It sucks verily.
