Is it still showing where YOU live?

It starts showing at one of the area cheap-o theatres on Friday, probably for 2 weeks or so. Tickets are $1.50 on Wednesdays...I plan on taking my mother and brother. My 5th, his 2nd, and her 1st.

Andorian - is your avatar a picture of a choral group you sing with? It's so tiny my ancient eyes can't see it well.

But from one choral singer to another: live long and prosper!

It's still playing at the Cantera 30 this weekend, and I might decide to go, even though it's a half hour on the expressway.

The clip of that Spanish live-orchestra and chorus playing "Enterprising Young Men" put a bee in my bonnet to go again.

Since they prolonged Star Trek's run at my local IMAX, I too might go again on Sunday... 37 confirmed reservations at 7.45 p.m. for tonight's showing, not counting others who might be coming in over the next 15 minutes.

That's a 500 dollar night for the IMAX theater.

It's been at my local $3 theatre for almost two weeks now, so I decided to go see it again this evening. It's still great, just in case anyone wanted to know. ;)

Looks like it will continue to have three showings a day at that cinema next week... I guess it's doing okay, even though there were only 8 people in the theatre, including myself. It will be joined on Friday by Angels & Demons (finally -- I've been waiting for it to come there so I can see it at a cheap price) and Night at the Museum 2 (which I don't have much interest in). Land of the Lost will be leaving the theatre after only about a couple weeks.

Apparently, this discount second-run cinema has to wait until all the first-run theatres in the city stop showing a movie before they can play it. I have no idea how Angels & Demons lasted over two months in first-run here... maybe it performed better in Canada (or my area) than it did in America. I can't say, but I guess I'll soon find out if it's any good.

i went to see it again tonight and this was the first time i saw a sparse number of people.
went to see it with three others.. it was new for one.

We still have it at Cantera! It'll be down to only two showings by Friday though.

Its the oldest movie we've got right now. I'm waiting to find out when we decide to get rid of it, which could very well be in about a week. I plan to go to the very last showing at Cantera. Its only fitting seeing as how I was there for the premier and it'll make it an even 10 for me.

That's cool that it's the oldest movie! Let me know what you find out about the last showing.

I did notice it was down to two shows this weekend. (And I was kind of hoping they had moved it to a different room, since my husband found the seats uncomfortable in the room where we saw it before.)

Here in the Detroit metro area, after today it will only be in one AMC theater (the largest one in the area, I think) in a far northeast suburb. It'll be showing 5 times a day, though.

I live in a far west suburb, and today's the last day for my local AMC, the last one showing it in my area. I really want to try to see it one more time (it would be my 11th), but with only one daytime showing and one at 6:30 p.m., I may not be able to swing it.

I hope it gets into the cable on-demand or iTunes lineup SOON. I just don't want to wait till mid-November to see it again!

^ I sure hope someone will say if and when it's on DirecTV pay per view. I haven't even been checking. I assume it will be HD?

I thought the movie was going to stop showing in Manhattan last week so I went for one "last" viewing and I was comforted to see the theater about 90% full! I was really happy and surprised. However, right before posting in this thread I saw it's still playing! So I'm definitely going to go back at some point to see it at least one more time. :)

WOW! 90% full! That is freakin' awesome.
hmmmm.....wonder if i could convince the husband to schlepp into the city....

ARGH...still gone from first run venues and not yet at the second run theaters :-(

Must be coming soon though, as the Cinemarks have posters and standees up for it in the lobby.

Yeah, it was really nice to see - and what a mix! Younger folks in their 20's, a couple senior citizen couples. It really speaks to the wide appeal of Trek. This is the type of crowd I've seen each time I've gone.

If you're curious, this was at the AMC Empire over on 42st and 8th avenue in NYC.

What's the projected release window for the DVD? I can't imagine it being any later than Halloween or Thanksgiving so the movie can sell big numbers for the Holidays.
