Is it still showing where YOU live?

IT'S BACK!

Unfortunately not at my cinema of choice, but at the second run cinema.

Now I have to figure out whether I want to risk the experience of watching Trek to be possibly marred by a crappy cinema experience.

Therin, that sounds like a wonderful time. Be sure and report back.

Just back from viewing #6 of the Star Trek movie. Still just as good as the last five times. Got to meet my email penpal (of over a decade!) and he loved his first screening of the new movie. He drove two hours to get there, and another two hours home. I was coming from the other direction.

It has two more days of sessions, but I have to be at a work conference instead.

^ ^ Very nice, indeed; thanks! Wow, four hours' worth of driving; that is dedication.

Star Trek finally disappeared from our local cinema within walking distance of my house last weekend for Harry Potter, but it's still playing at a couple of first-run theaters in the area (Northern Virginia/Suburban Washington DC) and it looks like it's started showing up at some second-run cinemas. A $260 million domestic box office seems all but certain at this point. (edit: Well, actually no it doesn't. If Trek keeps losing about 40% of its box-office take every week, it's going to top out around $254.6 million by the end of September. The movie would have to retain almost 90% of its week-to-week grosses between now and the end of September to hit $260 million. Math was never my strong suit!!)

Star Trek's run at my local IMAX has been extended until August 2--the third extension. At that time it'll have been there 1 full month. Ticket sales have been outstanding. :)

Two local theaters within 10 minutes of me, it started at the UA and now moved to the Regal (both part of Regal Group) still playing 4 times a day!

Glad I searched cuz there's a midnight screening of TWOK at another theater coming up on July 31!

Still going in the Cincinnati/Dayton, OH market... but will only be in the first run theaters in Dayton starting tomorrow. The Cincinnati area will going to the "dollar" theaters ($3 admission, cash) starting this weekend.

:bolian: Star Trek The IMAX Experience is running in Toronto at the Ontario Science Centre every night at 7:30 until Labor day.

Yeah, I noticed that! Very neat... they usually seem to just show nature documentaries and the like at that IMAX theatre.

Star Trek is still showing in Bellingham, WA, but moved to one screen in a less-centrally located cinema.

Last night at midnight was the last showing here....they gave that screen over to the many that Harry Potter already has. (which I'll never see)

Gave in and went again tonight--4th time to this IMAX, 12th overall (genuflecting before Jeri), and 80 people were there. So, a 1000 plus dollar night for the theater.

Not too shabby.
