Is it still showing where YOU live?

Saw it in suburban Chicago (Mount Prospect, the place where Elwood bought the Bluesmobile) on Sunday. That was our 8th time. I still get choked up when Jim's born and Winona and George have their last conversation. <sniff>

I just noticed it's started at the local second-run theater. Probably going to go try and see it a third time.

Star Trek 26, Transformers II 12 for the respective Thursday night 6 and 8.30 p.m. showings with 15 minutes to go before each movie.

I am convinced the next film, if done right, obviously, will be seriously front-loaded in addition to having legs. :)

It's in a couple of the cheap theaters now. I will have to go see it at least one more time.

Looks like it's only playing at one theatre in Toronto now, but at least it's a fairly popular first-run cinema in the centre of the downtown area.

My local discount theatre stopped showing it last week, but, strangely, they're still showing movies like Hannah Montana, Monsters vs. Aliens, and Imagine That. I figure they must get a lot of their revenue from families with young children or something, which would explain why some of these films have been there for months, whereas Trek was only there for about three weeks.

I just got home a bit ago from my AMCs last showing, we no longer have it as of tomorrow. I've been 10 times now and it should hopefully tide me over until the DVD comes out.

Starting its second week at our local $2 Cinema: http://www.kleebergcinemas.com/SALISBURY/index.html

[responding to bold section] Our local cheap cinema is a drop-off point for kids while mommy or daddy do their shopping. Times must be tough because this summer they eliminated the matinee week day showings they have had in past years.

It's still playing at the discount theater here in Tempe, AZ. I saw it there last week, then made it part of my own personal late night double feature with Terminator Salvation.

It's playing at the discount theater in my town in Illinois too. I thought it should have stayed in regular theaters much longer than it did. I'm not surprised it didn't though. I have yet to have seen a preview for the movie - whether it be on TV or in the theater - so neither I nor the people I know even knew the movie existed until well into June, and then it left within 2 weeks of seeing it. I wasn't a big enough fan to follow the series to know ahead of time and there was little to no promotion for the casual viewer. I think more promotion for the film would have done wonders and kept it in theaters longer. But that's just me. What do I know.

^ The AMC I work at just got rid of it last night. Though I'm guessing we're one of the few first run theaters in the Chicago area to have had it for this long and with 30 screens we've got plenty of room to keep it around.

It had a pretty decent run though, only shared a screen with another movie once and that lasted a week.

I'm gonna hazard a guess and assume the smaller theaters simply didn't have room for it at some point. With the movie coming out in early May it had a ton of competition ahead of it. Except for Up, Trek pretty much dominated the month of May and much of June till Transformers came out.

After taking a 27 to 6 hit on Friday (I blame the Concourse D'Elegance and County Fair), Star Trek bounced back to beat Transformers II 46 to 22 (with 15 minutes to go before each movie) on Saturday at the local IMAX...

just saw it at the Mcmenamin's Kennedy School in Portland Or. Over 150 in attendance on a Sunday 7:30 PM showing.

The Kennedy school is a cool place to watch movies, dinner and beer served with the movies and the seats are comfy sofas. After 5:30 PM its over 21 only.

Just did a search for the Philly area, and Star Trek will be returning to the Franklin Institute IMAX theater from September 3 thru September 20! Coinciding, it seems with the rest of the run of ST the Exhibit

Franklin Institute IMAX held onto the movie longer than most others during the initial release and the Exhibit is scheduled thru the 20th, might have to go back now that the movie is returning!!!

I just saw it at a theater near my town. Its one where you pay 3 dollars for a movie no mater what time you go. Maybe now i can afford to go see it for the second time.

Just checking the listings, and I see it's no longer at the two-dollar theater in Moreno Valley. Closest theaters for today are Temecula (1 showing), Anaheim (5) and La Mirada (4), all an hour's drive or more.

Looks like there's one cinema in Toronto showing Trek until Tuesday, and it appears to be a second-run/indie film theatre. There are also theatres in the neighbouring towns of Oakville and Concord that are still showing it... both of those cinemas seem to be multiplexes, albeit ones that show movies that are a few weeks to a few months old.
