Is Homeland good again?

I have been rewatching the first two seasons of Homeland. I forgot how great season 1 and most of season 2 is after I ditched the show during the outrageously bad season 3.

So my question is how are seasons 4 and 5? Are they were bothering with?

I thought season 4 was fantastic; for me maybe the best of all however, I have not yet watched season 5

Season 4 was fantastic. Perhaps the best one. Season 5 was alright and had many intense moments but wasn't the rollercoaster ride like Season 4.

OK thanks! Do I need to know about all the events of season 3 to enjoy season 4? I've seen the first 5-6 episodes before falling asleep and the finale scene with Brody in it.

The fifth season started out slow, but dialed it up to great halfway through. I agree that season four was stellar television (with the exception of the finale - what a dud!)

So pretty much season 3 being horrible is just a fluke? This is good to hear.

Season 4 blows it out of the water, and was great from start to finish. It doesn't need much knowledge of season 3- the Wiki summary of the final episode will be all the catch up you need.

I thought season 3 ended really well. It's just the first half was a bit slow while they set up some events, but by the time of the "twist" it made those slow episodes make more sense and then it kicked into high gear and an intense last couple of episodes.
