She didn't know how to give up. See she did need Luke's training in something.
Whereas... Mary Rey Sue got everything nailed in the time span of one movie!

You know I truly wondered why she did seek him at the end of The Force Awakens. She didn't know how to give up. See she did need Luke's training in something.

I remember he saying she has never left the planet before. Now my memory is a bit hazy but she never says she has flown anything. When they are racing for a ship she says she will be the pilot. The way I remember it it's like the set up for the usual joke "I thought you said you could fly this thing!" "No I just said you couldn't!" except there is no punchline and instead a chase through a crashed walker before breaking atmo. You know I truly wondered why she did seek him at the end of The Force Awakens.
On another note, I am curious though what flying did she do before she flew the Millennium Falcon? I honestly cannot remember that part.
Didn't Luke end his second movie sans hand and alive only because Leia sensed him and came back for him. The rebellion might be up the creek but Rey is doing fine at the end of number two.Two movies, just like Luke.
Why is that concept so difficult?
Surely notI remember he saying she has never left the planet before. Now my memory is a bit hazy but she never says she has flown anything. When they are racing for a ship she says she will be the pilot. The way I remember it it's like the set up for the usual joke "I thought you said you could fly this thing!" Rey hasn't split an end on one hair let alone lost a hand.Didn't Luke end his second movie sans hand and alive only because Leia sensed him and came back for him. The rebellion might be up the creek but Rey is doing fine at the end of number two.

Surely notI mean at least Luke had some flying experience. Don't tell me Mary Rey just... winged it on the fly??
So Biggs was entirely pointless in ANH. I mean I know we could half his screen time without any negative effects but his other scene was entirely there to tell us the audience that Luke was a good pilot. Guess he didn't need to bother.I think some basic awareness and piloting skills in the SW universe is like driving skills in more mundane "real world" movie settings, they are so commonplace you don't really need to explain how people came to have them. To a certain extent they are just a given.
Possibly it has been known to happen. I'm just saying that you said they both passed jedi training with flying colours in two movies. Rey seemed maybe slightly out classed by Ren in that throne room fight while I'm saying Luke was doing terrible after two movies. Is it possible you are being just a wee bit too literal here?
Maybe he went to Obi-Wan's place where he found lightsaber parts and Jedi journals we saw in TLJ?
In some ways it was just better writing (with the Original). So Biggs was entirely pointless in ANH. I mean I know we could half his screen time without any negative effects but his other scene was entirely there to tell us the audience that Luke was a good pilot. Guess he didn't need to bother.
and half the internet. Don't forget half the internetDidn’t Luke mention they were part and parcel of the special tree, and had been looked after by the Rey-cursed locals?
Rey: So ‘unbelievably perfect’, that the movies have the entire populace of a planet loathing her within the space of a week.
