And isn't Vulcan already destroyed by the time Kelvin-2257 rolls around?
Nah, Vulcan was destroyed in 2258And isn't Vulcan already destroyed by the time Kelvin-2257 rolls around?
Oh, FFS...They say it's in the Prime universe as well. That's hard to believe
Oh, FFS...
Can we not have ONE DAY without someone typing that nonsense?
The Angels/red spots don't seem to be involved based on the trailer.I forgot to add, I DON'T think Picard is gonna show up in this weeks episode.
(but I do still believe Time-Travel will be involved)

Or they can just keep pretending it's the same ole Prime Universe.
Yes, in fact, this is what they're doing. Although they're not pretending. It IS the Prime universe.
It IS the Prime universe.
Yeah.. The canon vs prime debateThis is specifically true, IMO what is in doubt is whether the Prime Timeline is the post-TOS timeline or not, and if so, what changed the timeline to cause it.
IMO, three mutually non-exclusive possiblities are: the "red angels", Borg involvement in the events of 'First Contact' and/or the Temporal Cold War.
Because honestly, the main explicit requirement of "Prime" is that it is "not-Kelvin" rather than anything else (as the contrast is the only other occassion when the term is used).
They say it's in the Prime universe as well. That's hard to believe given the sheer level of incongruity. and it makes more sense that DSC is in the same universe as the Kelvin movies.
Incongruity not involving set design differences, but characters' mannerisms and technology relative to the time period it alleges to be in.
Or there's some big disaster waiting that justifies all these technologies being lost, to the point it horrifies TOS Spock that he never brings up anything or anybody from the past. Apart from "The Cage". Which reminds me, along with the Genesis schematics, transwarp from ST III, transporters used to de-age people or used as a stasis field, etc, how many technologies every other Trek franchise came up then ditched... so DSC is acquitted in that regard.Ditto for callbacks; the 80s movies and TNG had a few in there. We've just never seen future technology being a "callback". Or "callforward"? So in terms of callbacks, DSC is being innovative. Assuming people like callbacks being flaunted so garishly.
I think we should be past the issue of whether or not the show is the prime universe or not.
The question is if even if they started out wanting it to be prime why can't they change their minds?
Yes. It is decidedly Prime.
How can you contradict yourself in consecutive sentences? The only person suggesting that they might have changed their mind is you.
