Iron Fist (Marvel/Netflix)

I think current news suggested that Daredevil 3 and Jessica Jones 2 would not film or be aired until after the Defenders had filmed.

My current guess is:

Defenders Phase 1
Daredevil 1 - Spring 2015
Jessica Jones 1 - Winter 2015
Daredevil 2 - Spring 2016
Luke Cage - Fall 2016
Iron Fist - Spring 2017
Defenders - Fall 2017

Defenders Phase 2
Daredevil 3 - Spring 2018
Jessica Jones 2 - Winter 2018

So this will film 13 episodes concurrently lasting till....July?
Did they say they wanted this out after Luke Cage? Placing it in Jessica Jones S1 slot of November perhaps.
That brings up...any news on filming for JJ S2? Defenders may film end of this year over into '17 but we are also still awaiting DD S3 news. So much going on!!
Jessica Jones season 2 is still in the writing process, I think. It won't start filming until after The Defenders, which is scheduled to film not long after Iron Fist season 1 completes filming. It's gonna be a busy year for Finn Jones.

Since this has only just started filming and Luke Cage has already wrapped, yes, this is definitely going to premier afterward. Generally Netflix's Marvel shows have premiered roughly a year after they started filming, give or take a month or two, so I'd expect to see Iron Fist debut next year around when Daredevil's first two seasons did (March or April), with The Defenders sometime in late summer or early fall.

I wouldn't expect to see Daredevil season 3 or Jessica Jones season 2 until 2018.

Filming on Iron Fist is scheduled to go on into August, after which Finn Jones will immediately begin working on Defenders. There has been an announcement that JJ will get a second season, but there has been no official word on DD S3.

Doctor Strange is in November, so they probably wouldn't want people staying at home binging a Netflix show at that time ;)

Iron Fist in the Spring next year and Defenders in the Fall next year seems most likely.

It was a nice little teaser, but didn't show a whole lot. I don't know much about Iron Fist, so I'm not really sure what to expect from this one.

If you were looking for a primer I'd suggest the Claremont/Byrne work from '72/'75 or the 2006 Brubaker run.
I can't speak to the more recent, 2014, 12 issue run by Kaare Andrews titled: The Living Weapon. I bought the trades last year at a Black Friday sale but still haven't gotten around to them(so backlogged).
However if you find the prior two mentioned collections at Marvel Unlimited or a good sale you might check them out.

Not really fair to call the 2006 version the "Brubaker run." The first fourteen issues were written jointly by Matt Fraction and Ed Brubaker, and Fraction wrote a couple of issues on his own. After them, Duane Swierczynski took over for the run's final ten issues.

But yeah, it's a great series and hopefully where the TV show will take a lot of its inspiration from.

Comixology is usually pretty good about getting stuff like this sale before the shows start, so I'll see if they do one for the Brubaker/Fraction/Swierzynski run. That was one that I was already thinking about since it was right in the middle of the period where I've started my Marvel reading.

Is that the first we heard about Missick also being on Iron Fist? They mentioned it pretty casually in the interview, but I don't remember hearing about that before.

Indeed, it didn't even seem to me like the article was confirming an IF appearance, just assuming that she'd have a role because of her comics history.

EDIT: Whoops, no, I didn't read the whole thing. A few paragraphs later, Loeb is quoted as saying, "And I can tell you that what she's doing on Iron Fist, it's just incredible. The fans are really going to love it." And yes, that does seem to be our first confirmation.
