Iron Fist (Marvel/Netflix)

I don't really know anything about Shang Chi, but I like the idea of including more of the martial arts based characters in the show. I'm assuming they'll also bring in the other Immortal Weapons at some point.

I thought the code name Power Man was to represent Black Power cause from the African American movement from the late 1960's through the course of the 1970's. For African American readers, who I've spoken to, mentioned they loved the title of the character. What some had disliked was the tiara, and bracelets he wore like a male Wonder Woman.
For me, I loved the title and I liked the team called Power Man and Iron Fist. I read the reteaming of them, and it has only made me more pumped up for the series. Just imagine Woo ping directing Iron Fist and later a possibly Power Man and Iron Fist team up crossover.

I still think this and Cage would have been awesome as a show set in the 70s. The whole Netflix universe seems it could've been.

Wow. We sure are getting a lot of GoT actors on Marvel projects lately, two of them right here on Iron Fist. And I'll have to keep an eye out for her when I get my The Force Awakens Blu-Ray.

I haven't gotten past Season 3 of GoT yet, but I do remember her in TFA. I find it ironic that the first two cast members announced are both from GOT.

What is GOT or GoT???

If they put a lot of martial arts stuff in there and probably the culture, maybe Radioactive Man may get an appearance. Maybe even the Mandarin?

Can't say that I'm really looking forward to this. The martial arts and mystical sides of comics have never really appealed to me. Just never really seemed to fit into the superhero genre.

Some of the earliest super-heroes were mystical in nature. Many villians were often mystical as well and not limited to fight mystical heroes. Martials Arts go hand in hand with the genre as well. The skilled fighter, be it in the Eastern, Western or other disciplines is part and parcle to the super-hero genre. Batman, Wildcat, Captain America and Black Widow are all super heroes who skill set includes Martial Arts.

The shoeless scruffy look makes me think this must be fairly soon after he arrives in New York.

Yes. Zatara the Magician (Zatanna's father) debuted in Action Comics #1 at the same time as Superman. The early superhero comics drew heavily on the adventure pulps, and there was a lot of mysticism in them.

So this will film 13 episodes concurrently lasting till....July?
Did they say they wanted this out after Luke Cage? Placing it in Jessica Jones S1 slot of November perhaps.
That brings up...any news on filming for JJ S2? Defenders may film end of this year over into '17 but we are also still awaiting DD S3 news. So much going on!!
