Indy useless in Raiders...

What if the Nazis figured out you had to close your eyes and started deploying it on the battlefield? Couldn't they wipe out entire battalions, and cities of people?
I doubt they would have had the chance. The Arc would likely have destroyed Berlin and Hitler much as it did Tanis, wiped clean by the wrath of God.

Yes, that would've likely happened, but I don't think that would've averted global conflict with a decapitated Third Reich emboldening equally hostile neighbours like Fascist Italy and the Soviet Union, with Japan being much the same, leading to WWII breaking out.

That's a much broader speculation, how large conflict would have become without German influence. Asia, probably much as it did, Japan eventually attacking British and American interests in order to force them out of the Japanese sphere of influence. Europe, I don't know. The abrupt destruction of Berlin may have brought in French and British forces as a means to stabilize Germany. Italy may have tried still to expand its empire, but without German help, Mussolini may have fallen faster than he did. I am not sure how aggressive a policy Stalin would have pushed towards the west, he might have taken more interest in Japan's expansionism.

It's been a while since I've seen all of Raiders. But one thing I always liked about Indy in it and all the movies was that he regularly took a pasting. And Harrison Ford always knew how to make it look like he'd just gotten punched really hard. That's one of the reasons why Indy is so much better than some Arnie/Sly muscleman.
