Yes, while TV is doing fine, the big cash cow, the films, doesn't have any direction at all right now. Each sequel trilogy film made less than the one before it, and there was a decided lack of sequel trilogy cosplayers at Celebration.

Uh...that's what happened with the OT and PT as well.

So that means unhealthy then?

Sequel films generally make less. This should come as no surprise to anyone who looks at film economics.

Now that the pandemic is largely past and things may get back to a semblance of normal perhaps the films will be seen as easier to wield in the economy.

You sure? A cursory search shows domesticly Jedi and Sith made more than their predecessors. And Sith made more than Clones worldwide as well. And the drop of the sequel trilogy is a much steeper slope than seen before.

The film is 154 minutes long!

I know some people will hate that news, but if the film uses that time well, then I'm all for it. I trust James Mangold on this one.

Being almost 30 minutes longer then the next longest IJ film (The Last Crusade, at 128 minutes) is ridiculous. Two hours should be the maximum length for 99% of movies. Even if Mangold manages to make a halfway decent movie (which he hasn't done since The Wolverine, in my opinion) there is no way it justifies being two and a half hours long.

I think most films now are too long, though I have enjoyed some long movies recently. But the IJ films feel at their best when zipping along like the cliffhanger serials that inspired them. A 2.5 hour Indiana movie is going to feel odd. Still, if it’s done well…

I don't mind 2 1/2 hours. 3 hours is where I start to question the director's decisions.

I think it depends on how engaging the film is. Too much droning exposition or prolonged fight scenes and I am prone to doze off.

GotG V3 is 2.5 hours but kept me very engaged, only one fight went on a little too long, causing my mind to wander for a moment. Not bad considering during Quantumania, my movie mate had to poke me in the ribs for snoring. lol

I don't have a hard time limit for movies. If it's engaging then go for it.

But, I'm very biased as my favorite film of all time is "The Ten Commandments."

If the story and actors are engaging and it's edited well, then it won't feel like two and a half hours. I'm good with it. Especially since this is very likely Ford's last go as Indy.

Avenger's Endgame did not feel like 3 hours to me, because I really enjoyed it.

I have no problem with that runtime, that seems to be becoming the standard for these kind of movies.
