Incredible Hulk to end

I love the bannertech.

All the forcefields and transporter tech that he invented at some point which he forgot to use while on the run for the first 20 years (marvel Time). If banner always had access to that stuff, even if he stole it off the leader, he could have fucked back Ross, and seriously after you DEFEAT the US Army COMPLETELY... Well that sort of automatically makes you the Warlord of America... Lord Protector? President for life? King Hulk? besides he could have hacked into the Pentagon and reassigned all the money earmarked to hunting him towards solar power research or schoolbooks for inner city kids, gods, Banner could have sicked the IRS on Thunderbolt Ross (They screwed over Captain America quite well in the 80s for not paying his taxes while in suspended animation.) for running a black book to hunt the hulk down.

Young, it seems like i'm probably misunderstanding you, but Incredible Hulk transitioned into Incredible Hercules and then back into Incredible Hulk again after issue 600. Pak has been on board the whole time telling the same story... It's all about Cho no matter who the big guy with him is. It's kinda like Pak left the book, but considering who Armadeus Cho "really" was, all that Olympian stuff was necessary for the growth of a new major supporting character of the Incredible Hulk while they were waiting for the Hulk to "come back".

I was always more partial to She Hulk.

That time when Mrs Claus filled Jennifer's office full of Reindeer pellets for hitting on her old man... Priceless.

I haven't followed any comics since the mid-90's, around the time the gray changed back to green.

What I read in these threads makes me a little relieved I stopped.

I'm surprised that no one is talking about Greg Pak ending his run...he has done some great things like "Planet Hulk" and to a lesser degree "World War Hulk" and then has handled the current Hulk family books post Jeph Loeb. I credit him with bringing me back to Hulk and blame Jeph Loeb for taking me back out again.

Ar-Pharazon, you should check out Planet Hulk. It's available as a single collection. Your neighborhood library might have it. You don't need to know too much except a general knowledge of who Hulk and to a very small extent who Silver Surfer and to an even smaller extent Reed Richards and Iron Man are...

I have actually found the Red Hulk to be a far more entertaining read lately than the green family of Hulks. As far as renumbering goes, who cares. Update your Excel spreadsheet and move on. Let them restart every year it really doesnt make any difference. Instead of saying I have 600 issues of the Hulk I'll just say I have every issue from every series, nuff said.

According to several teasers and interviews (Although part of this is speculation on my part):

Following either the events of "Heart of the Monster" or "Fear itself" Banner and the Hulk are seperated into two entities once again. However, as hinted in Pak's run when Banner was cured for a short time, Banner is actually more dangerous than the Hulk, and the Hulk-who is in a self-imposed exile under the Earth's surface-must take on his human half. While that might seem easy, Banner has all that Bannertech stuff now which makes him more dangerous . It's not been revealed what Hulk persona this is, but I'm guessing they will sort of continue with Green scar-a semi-intelligent Hulk.

As for the rest of the 'family', we're stuck with the Red Rosses I think, with Red/Thunderbolt now an Avenger, and Red she-hulk/Betty in a new version of Defenders. Not sure what's going to be going on with Skaar. Rick just got depowered, and so did She-Hulk/Jen, but it remains to be seen what happens (Reportedly there are plans for Jen so I think she'll get her powers back). Not sure what's going on with Lyra either.

I would like to see the Hulk's classic rogues gallery sort of return. Sure Abomination is dead, but he could always come back. The Leader is depowered, but that probably won't last long. MODOK of course is already back and redesigned (He now has robotic spider-legs pretty much, but is still a giant head). Tyrannus appeared recently, as well.

So, at some point during Fear Itself Jen Walters She-Hulk is going to get depowered...again. I'm only reading Fearsome Four so I assume this depower takes place in the main book or Hulk tie-in?

^^
If it's pre-Fear than there is a continuity glitch(those never happen) cause the Fearsome Four is clearly during Fear.
Spoil away: How did she get depowered this time?
It's not still tied to those nanites from the fall out of Registration after Civil War is it?

i'm catching up on my Hulk comics. at the part where Bruce is having Skaar fight Daken. not sure if the relaunch will be any good, but i'll give it a shot.

Regarding Hulk relaunches/reboots...

The original Hulk series lasted only about half a year, I think.

After making a few appearences here and there the Hulk was moved to a serial in Tales to Astonish, sharing the magazine with Hank Pym and later, Namor. Eventually Tales was renamed Incredible Hulk, and continued that way until the late 90s, until Marvel relaunched most of their titles. It was initially called just "Hulk" but then was renamed Incredible Hulk again with issue #12 (The beginning of the Paul Jenkin's run). Incredible Hulk would run with the renumbered lettering until about #108 (I think), where it was switched to Incredible Hercules for a while while Hulk appeared in the new second adjectiveless Hulk title with the Red Hulk. Then Hercules left, the original numbering returned at #600 with the Red Hulk depowered the Green (Which would be undone a year later)....and then ending again at #636.

So is The Incredible Hulk the most cancelled/rebooted comics series ever?

No, I think that's Legion of Superheroes.

Although I think Punisher is on Volume 8 by now... so maybe it is.

Depends how you define it, I know that the post office considers "Punisher" (anyone remember that awful series where Frank joined the mob and grew a pony-tail?) to be different from "The Punisher"

So it looks like the next storyline
will have Bruce and the Hulk seperated once again (Done several times in the past, most notably in Bryne's mid-80s run). However the twist will be that Bruce will be the bad guy and the Hulk the hero. Pak's run, in the few issues where Banner was depowered, actually hinted at this a bit, that Bruce Banner without the Hulk is actually more dangerous due to his scientific know-how. I wonder how long the seperation will last

They're rebooting Hulk again? Why?

Hell, the original Hulk run in 1962 was canceled after six issues.

@DarthPipes 'Cause Marvel apparently doesn't know what to do with the character now that Greg Pak will be concluding his run and I suspect that Jason Aaron's pitch was the most interesting and "different" to them. I'm kind of looking forward to it. Aaron's developed into a pretty good writer.

I thought the Red Hulk storyline was cool (aside from this asinine Hulked Out Heroes part, ugh), but everything since then has been horribly uninteresting. The Hulk Family stuff has just been.... silly.... and I don't care about the Red Hulk's storylines and incredibly uninteresting villains.
