I'm watching "The Six Million Dollar Man"

^ Poor Keir Dullea, having to go from 2001 (one of the greatest films of all time) to that.
Look, I can ever forgive bad special effect, but even the episodes synopsis sound stupid.

"Circuit of Death"
A disillusioned man triggers the self-destruction of the Ark but intends to escape;
"Well, this seems interesting, a metaphor about the futility of existence and..."
he and Devon must undergo miniaturization to stop the detonation
"WTF!?!"

By the way, you can find all The Starlost episodes on YouTube. I've no idea about the legality of them, but considering that Youtube usually is very quick in removing copyrighted material and these episodes have been on the platform for two years...

I'm trying to imagine all those people hungry for good TV science fiction after Star Trek, and all they got was The StarLost.

(Minute 7:01) "A powerful drama!"

Dear Keir, I believe absolutely no one has ever defined The Starlost "a powerful drama!"

I guess the effects weren't finished by the time they put that promo reel together. Those ships seen at the beginning were from the movie 'Silent Running'.

Well, they look a little like the StarLost's Ark

My family was alive back then. They aren't now. I'm sorry you think my missing them is wrong for whatever reason.

That statement had nothing to do with your family. And that wasn’t even implied nor inferred in @Maurice’s statement.

I read his post as some had a “better time” while others were still persecuted for being who they were… I.e. homosexuals, people of color.

Why assume it was a personal attack?

YT was the first place I've seen the series since the late '70s on CBC...(quality wasn't much better when it was new)

I have no doubt your parents were exactly what Maurice had in mind when he talked about his own experience of the decade.

Absolutely.

The worst thing about the entire experience was the continued existence of two people he'd never even heard of but happened to produce some random guy he would encounter on an as yet non existent communications technology over 40 years later.

You know I never liked Superfriends. Eek, but I did like 70s TV, Shows like Six Million Dollar Man and Space 1999, and Dr Who in the 80s that was my childhood

The six million dollar man would be worth $36,892,297.30 now, provided there's no depreciation after he left the show room floor.
On one of the reimagine comics, $6,000,000 was the cost of his daily maintenance and operations.

When I was seven, I thought that "Day of the Robot" was seriously creepy. I found it to be even scarier than the faceless woman in "Charlie X."

Indeed I agree but looking back at those episode you do notice things like how much bigger the guy's head is because he's wearing a mask with the robot parts attached to it making his head slightly larger then normal.

That was the sort of effect that worked better from the front than the side, but on a TV shooting schedule they couldn't always be careful about the camera angles.

Actually, "Day of the Robot" was relatively careful with that. I suspect that in at least most of the shots they used a dummy head whenever feasible. The Bionic Woman was far sloppier with that head size problem you're referring to, compromising the visuals in order to have greater character interaction and freedom of movement (with the actor wearing an appliance).
