I'm out of here!!! I QUIT!!!

Yeah, I know, some of you thought this thread was about me leaving the BBBS...No such luck!!!

Has there ever been a point of time, while you have been a Trek, that something they did, be an episode, a movie, whatever, that angered you so much you said to your self, "This sucks! I'm giving up on Star Trek!". If so, what was it...and..why did you come back.

There's never been such a time, because while I didn't like Voyager or Enterprise, there was still TOS and TNG to fall back on.

Never. No matter how much an episode sucked, I knew that gems were still on the way. :)

Biggles and Jink, sounds like a cartoon!!, I am with you both. TREK has so much to offer that you can always go back to the things you liked. Just think about some of the other Franchises out there, and what some of them have thought after they spit out a turkey of a movie (or several)...

At least we have was we like individually to fall back on...the magic of Star Trek!!!

You know that last line gave you goosebumps!!!

Well... Nemesis had pretty much done that for me for movies. But, give up on Trek itself. Not gonna happen.

After they produced Enterprise(which was just not for me), I would say Trek left me rather than i left Trek.....but I'm still here waiting to see if it will come back to me with the next movie.

VOY's third season. The relentless onslaught of mediocrity week after week nearly drove me away. It was only due to the rumors of a new drive with the Borg two-parter Scorpion and the addition of Seven to the show.

no, giving up on Star Trek never crossed my mind. I did give up on Enterprise and there were episodes of the other series (and a movie and at least one book) that made me go nuts but never to the point of saying "no more". I don't think it could ever happen, there's too much Trek I love. So, for instance, even if I'm not excited in the least as of now about the new movie, I'm still hopeful.

'Giving up' is the wrong phrase. I didn't care for either Voyager or Enterprise too much, but as others have pointed out, even then, there was still TOS, TNG & DS9 to fall back on.

If TOS was on the air for the first time this season, then I might have given up after "Miri." Anytime after that, though, there is a history of solid episodes to rely upon.

I stopped watching Voyager midway through season 4 and got through about 4 episodes of Enterprise. Gave up on them pretty quick. Eventually I did catch most of the Voyager reruns on Spike. Also, while I was in college and a little busier I didn't watch nearly as much. So, I guess, my answer is kinda.

I don't think any of us will ever "give up" on Star Trek. There may be times when we feel like, WTF, but I don't think it would make us give it up.

I left the fandom for a good few years after Insurrection. My thinking was that I wasn't going to waste energy caring about TNG, when it was very clear that the people actually running the gig cared an awful lot less.

Wandered back in when Nemesis had been and gone and TNG became pretty much a closed fandom.

TOS is Star Trek and it never annoyed me. But what TPTB did with VOY and ENT as well as much of TNG and DS9 really pissed me off. And that's why I turned my back on them.

No, never.
