If YOU could have any new star trek show you want...

I guess a future with races like the Borg and Dominion as allies would be too far fetched?

Dominion is totally plausible after several decades of Odo's influence. Borg is harder as Borg aren't really a race so much as a computer program built on other races. No peace with the Borg could ever involve unwilling biological hosts.

But the Queen(s) seem to have total free will. Surely some kind of negotiations could occur in some unlikely event. I mean all you need are good writers.

First choice: I'd like to see a multi-season HBO-style series made of the Vanguard series of novels.

Second choice: A reboot/redo of Enterprise, true to the 22nd Century and not the re-dressing of 24th Century Trek that we actually got.

Last Choice: A new series, ship, and crew set in the immediate post V'ger timeframe. Basically when the rest of the fleet was upgrading from the TOS era to the 'Movie' era, but not as far along as TWOK. The only reason I'd prefer this instead of a post-Nemesis series is that the latter is getting too far ahead technologically speaking to make a fun series, I think. Just my opinion.

Unfortunately very unlikely, but I'm with you, those novels were brilliant and would translate so well into some form of television series.

I would love to see a series set in the Kelvin timeline, once the films are done and dusted (which they could already be at this rate) preferably with the current cast, but that's obviously a fantasy. If not another group of actors in another ship/base would do.

Trek set in the 40th century would be interesting to see, because of how slow technology progresses in the trek universe, I'd assume that whatever they'd come up with for that far into the future would be closer to my views on the 22nd century.

I'd like to see an original series/TNG style show, set in the Non Kelvin/Pre Abrams timeline. It could be before Kirk or after Picard, I don't care. One lone ship discovering new aliens every week. New characters, new ship, new aliens, new designs, cinematic aesthetics, good music. Anthologized stories, like TOS and TNG. The show must follow the ship's mandate to fulfill its missions. Perhaps there could season long missions where the ship stays in one sector or only focuses on specific types of missions, but each episode must stand on it's own. Every episode must have one bridge scene. If a show is set on a starship, each episode should end with the vessel warping on to its next mission to the melody of Alexander Courage fanfare. The characters are important but the show must not evolve into a soap opera or become obsessed with backstories. No Star Trek cliches. No bumpy head aliens, No bar room teasers/codas, no technobabble, and no holodeck malfunctions.

I know it might be quite boring to other people, but I would honestly like to see a series set in a Federation Colony. I would set it post-Dominion War, in a Federation Colony on the Cardassian border.
Background: The colony is located in the Demilitarized Zone, but remained in Federation control, so the citizens of the colony - although sympathetic to the fellow colonists who found themselves under Cardassian - were never explicitly involved in the Maquis. Nevertheless, the colony (which I like to call Nea Salamina - 'New Salamis') received a large amount of refugees during the war; refugees fleeing the Cardassians and the Jem Hadar. Now, many (though not all) of the refugees want to return home, yet Starfleet is unwilling to allow the refugees to return, as they do not want to be seen to be taking advantage of the destruction of the Cardassians, especially not by retaking old colonies.
Tensions arise as the refugees become disillusioned with Starfleet, and feel abandoned by the Federation. Whereas the citizens of Nea Salamina, feel like their hospitality has a limit, and are unwilling to provide permanent homes, jobs, etc. This would give writers the opportunity to discuss 'real world issues,' as they are fond of doing.

Characters: The series would follow different colonists, refugees, and Starfleet personnel, as they attempt to live their lives on the frontier of Federation space. As it is a Federation colony, it is open to all races of the Federation. Its location on the edge of the Demilitarized Zone makes it of strategic importance to Starfleet, as its their last outpost before Cardassian space (so it is in their interest to keep the colony on their side, and stable). The colony might even have some Cardassians seeking to make a new home after their defeat in the Dominion War.

Some Plot Ideas: This could allow the exploration of the Federation's views on inclusiveness and equality, etc., as having Cardassians in the colony would lead to interesting relations between the Cardassians, the colonists, and the Federation refugees. Maybe the new Cardassian government has a special eye on the colony to see how their citizens are treated in the Federation, and whether the Federation is serious about establishing better relations, and providing assistance with rebuilding.
I think it would also give writers the opportunity to explore other facets of the Star Trek universe e.g., the relations between Starfleet and civilian governments; how things like trade, and providing for your citizens' needs, works on a Federation outpost; Federation arts and culture; maybe it could answer the questions we all have on how society functions in the Federation; the increase in population could allow for the further exploration, and surveying, of the planet, or maybe its location makes it a popular place for Starfleet to meet non-Federation members, in a location that is not Deep Space 9. Admittedly, the opportunity to seek out new life, and boldly go where no one has gone before is bit limited by such a concept.
Finally, I've always had this idea for an episode, where the colonists are excavating in order to expand the colony (or whatever), and they come across some mysterious objects. The archaeologists/historians are called in and they discover a proto-Cardassian, or proto-Bajoran, civilization. The Federation archaeologists explore further and find skeletons, graves, works of literature etc. But the Cardassians, or Bajorans, discover the Federation's findings. This leads increased tensions with the Cardassians, or Bajorans. If their Cardassian, maybe they use this an excuse to support the superiority of their people, or to demand the Federation hands over the colony to them, as they clearly colonized it first. If their Bajoran, maybe they demand the Federation ceases the desecration of their ancestors graves, and religious sites, or maybe they too ask for its return, to its 'rightful heirs.'

Thanks for the opportunity to say what I would like to see in a show, and thank you for reading!
Well, I guess my idea was not too original. I was thinking about a Federation colony on a planet where alien technology is found. There were, of course, some things I wanted to be different.

My show would take place on a colony in the Gamma Quadrant, established sometime before "Jem'hadar", that has become increasingly isolated from the Federation as political tensions increased. Communications from Starfleet largely consist of big data dumps that are hoped could help the colonists. There are 500 settlers, but only two SF officers, who were both stranded when their shuttle/runabout was attacked while trying to reach the colony. Their damaged ships only allow them to reach the planets in the star system.

On the eve of the announcement of Cardassia joining the Dominion, the SF officers and some colonists are working on a crude holographic projection system that will allow them to activate an EMH. Having appeared to succeed, the EMH starts exhibiting sign of severe physical discomfort. He has not been made human, but he has a mix of human and alien organs, filled in with holographic elements. The struggle to stabilize the EMH, debating whether to treat him as hologram or living being, they discover that they have been living in a "terradeck": not a projection of reality, but a grand system in which the physical properties of the environment are transform according to the actions and interests of the inhabitants. Increasingly, the technology has started to struggle to interpret what the colonists want, and has started to fill with elements of the culture of the species that built it. The EMH, having stabilized himself, discovers that not only is the landscape gradually becoming more alien, but that the terradeck is trying to change the colonists themselves.
