If YOU could have any new star trek show you want...

Dont worry about uf it would be succesful, in this scenario you get whatever you want.

So if you want DS9 season 8, you've got it

You want Star Trek Titan? Or a miniseries of Destiny?

If you want a show about the guys who clean the bathrooms on voyager, youve got it.

Under these "anything goes" rules, what sort of show would you like to see

I would want a continuation of the Enterprise in the spirit of the first two seasons, before it started devolving into long arcs on the xindi and other nonsense conflicts.

Also seasons 4 and 5 of TOS, obviously. The crew would be a cutting edge CGI simulation of the original actors the way they appeared in the 60's

If you meant anything well I would love a historical show which details the changes the world takes after the events of First Contact. How we as a planet changed from that day onwards and the show could end just as Enterprise starts.... That's the gap I'd like to see filled.

A Starfleet Academy series. Basically Smallville Trek, where Kirk, Spock and the rest save the galaxy between classes.

The 1970's Star Trek II (also known as "Phase II").

One day, I will figure out interdimensional travel and will make it to a universe where the series was filmed. I will bring back the Blu-ray!

after the events of First Contact
I'd love that time period, but would still like a starship focus. We would see and hear on occasion about what's happening on Earth, but not all the time.

Jettison the whole ST Enterprise premise (alternate universe) and have starships out exploring and colony ships departing right after Cochrane proves his engine works. This would place the series only about six decades from today.

The starship would be looking for colony world for Humans who wanted to leave Earths war torn regions behind, and looking for resources and new technology to help Earth rebuild, and for new trading partners and allies.

Different idea would be (my vision) a post-Dominion War series. Many of the Federation members are less than impressed with the Federation Council's leadership and conduit during the war and the Federation is beginning to shed members. They're are going ...

1) independant.
2) banding together with other former Members.
3) Joining with other interstellar alliances (who were always there).

The former area that was the Federation is now much more dynamic, weaker in some way, stronger in others. Where there was once one Federation, now there are more than twenty.

This version of Star Trek would be more political and more interspective.

We'll find out that many in the old Federation were unhappy with the way things were run, the iron cast rules created before most of the Membership originally joined, the power block of the founding six Members (and their unique ability to veto any decision), and the prime directive and the way it evolved between the 23rd and 24th centuries.

And especially the way Humans dominated Starfleet.

Not that I've thought about this before, but here's some graphics I did before Enterprise even premiered. Think of them as four full-page TVGuide ads:

The idea is four series on rotation in the same timeslot. Four completely different shows, alternating each week. So each show basically only has a new episode once a month. More time to work on production quality and scripts for each. 10 episodes of each would give you a 30-episode season, though I guess 5 or 6 eps of each would be more realistic.

It could be one production crew doing all four, or (preferably) four different production crews devoting all their quality energies to one segment each.
But no crossovers!

"Assignment: Earth"--the tv series.

Hey, we've waiting for almost fifty years for the further adventures of Gary Seven, Roberta Lincoln, and Isis.

I'd be down with that. Gary Seven and Roberta Lincoln's adventures in the 1970s. Give Gary Seven a small afro to fit in.

The John Byrne mini-series from IDW is pretty good. Also, I think there are some books from some hack named Cocks, Kochs, Cox... something like that.

The show I'd design would take place about 20 years after DS9/Voyager.

The Federation would be still rebuilding after the Dominion War, and some would be questioning the idealism the show is based on. So the show would be an ideological fight against those who want to recreate the Federation as a more xenophobic fascist military organization out of fear of the next Dominion conflict.

What about a post Federation series? I'd love to see the events of that after the collapse of the Federation when people start leaving and confidence in it has dropped.

You mean Andromeda? ;)

I'd love to see a show like that but don't necessarily think it belongs in the Trek Universe. Better off as a fresh IP.

Oh haha....... Was that really Gene's Idea? I have heard it debated.

No I meant that quite literally within the Star Trek universe. Nothing lasts forever and the Federation will fall one day.
