If you weren´t into Star Trek before the latest movie, what did you think of the shows and movies before May 2009?

Why did you see the movie?

Will you explore the rest or are you just a fan of the new movie?

If yes, what do you think of the older shows and movies now?

1) Before May 2009, I thought they were heavily technical sci-fi. I was under the impression that Star Trek was heavy-handed and very serious and somber in tone. This was probably due to the fact that I was (still am) a Star Wars nerd and spent a lot of time in SW chat rooms from the ages of 14-16. The other SW nerds told me in chat rooms that I would hate Star Trek and I guess I believed them. Also, Trekkers would come into our rooms and troll us, so I didn't look upon them or their fandom fondly.

2) I saw the movie because my husband (an old Trek fan) wanted to see it and several trusted sources told me it was an enjoyable film.

3) I have been watching TOS and will watch associated movies, but I'm not interested in the series beyond it so far.

4) I absolutely adore TOS. It's hopeful, light-hearted, and I couldn't possibly love the characters more than I do.

I got into Trek after I seen the new film just think that Star Trek is awesome not just the film.
